‘Don’t quit!’ SAS Australia fans rally around Jackson Warne as he speaks candidly about the difficulty of living in his cricketer dad Shane’s shadow
SAS Australia star Jackson Warne spoke candidly about living in the shadow of his famous cricketer father Shane on Tuesday night’s episode of the series.
And viewers rallied around the handsome 21-year-old soon after by encouraging him to keep going in the gruelling reality show.
Viewers took to Twitter as the tense scenes aired, with one fan writing: ‘I so hope Warne junior doesn’t quit. He seems such a decent guy with good values.’

Fans flooded the social media platform with support for Jackson, with many calling him a ‘good egg’ and ‘down to earth’.
‘All he wants to do is step out of his dad’s shadow. Keep going Jackson!’ a fan wrote.
‘Jackson is so down to earth. Please don’t quit,’ another wrote. While another viewer observed: ‘Jackson seems lovely.’
Yet another added: ‘Jackson, you seem like a lovely man in your own right.’

Jackson was candid when he was pulled into interrogation, as he spoke of growing up in his famous dad’s shadow and his insecurity in groups.
‘[I want] to test myself and I want to… I want him [Shane] to be really proud of me,’ he confessed to Ant and the team.
Ant then asked Jackson what it was like to ‘live in your dad’s shadow’, and said his accomplishments would be ‘overcast’ by the 51-year-old former cricketer.

‘It’s been pretty frustrating my whole life. Whenever I walk into a room or meet someone, it’s always, ‘Oh, that’s Shane Warne’s son, Jackson,’ it’s never, ‘That’s Jackson,” he admitted.
‘I just want to be Jackson. Doing this, I know I can prove to people that no matter how easy my childhood was, I can still do the tough stuff and still push myself physically and mentally.’
Ant told Jackson he could now understand why he had agreed to appear on the gruelling TV show.

‘Friends-wise and family, whenever I’m always in a group of people, I always found a way of… I’m not sure,’ Jackson continued.
‘Just not being able to interact with people, just because I don’t know if they assume about me. I just don’t feel comfortable in groups and in teams.’
Jackson was encouraged to be his own man by the directing staff on the show.
