Iggy Azalea took to Instagram Stories on Monday to make clear that her son Onyx’s father, Playboi Carti, is dedicated amid their split, and involved in his life.
‘Nothing I said was intended to make it seem like my sons father isn’t part of his life but I’ve noticed a lot of people took it that way so I wanted to clear the air,’ said the Australian rapper, 30. ‘Onyx is so so loved by his dad & always has had both parents in his life from day one.’
The artist, whose real name is Amethyst Kelly, made the statement a day after she uploaded two photos of herself cradling her adorable infant on Sunday – just hours after confirming she her breakup.

Fans were understandably shocked to see Onyx pictured on Iggy’s page, given that the rapper had previously vowed to keep her son’s life private.
‘What I meant last night was that I’m raising my son alone and I’m not in a relationship,’ Iggy wrote in a post on Instagram Stories.

In July, Iggy revealed her son’s unique name, Onyx, in a short clip shared to Instagram.
The video consisted of the words ‘Amethyst & Onyx’ – Amethyst being Iggy’s legal first name – against a plain black background.
A 10-second audio recording of the baby cooing accompanied the text.
