Fans left stunned as Gogglebox star Tim Lai’s REAL age is revealed

He is famous for critiquing television shows alongside his younger sister Leanne on Gogglebox Australia.

But fans of the Channel Ten show were left stunned when they discovered Tim Lai’s real age is 42.

‘I saw an article this week… no way Tim is [in his] 40s. No way!!’ one person tweeted.

‘[This must be] fake news,’ another person agreed.

Tim admitted he’s often mistaken for being much younger, replying: ‘No one believes it until they see the drivers license!!’

Meanwhile, Tim and his younger sister Leanne, 30, made their debut on Ten’s highly-anticipated show Gogglebox last year.

During the heartwrenching premiere, Tim broke down in tears over a family tragedy that changed his life forever.

While watching chef Kylie Kwong speak about losing her son in an interview with Anh Do, the 42-year-old revealed he’d been through a similar situation.

During Anh’s show, Brush With Fame, Kylie revealed she and her wife Nell lost their son Lucky in 2012 after he was born premature.

The celebrity chef admitted she ‘cried for 10 hours straight’ after Nell was rushed to hospital and they were told their son would not survive. 

Kylie’s heartbreaking story resonated with Tim, who broke down and said: ‘I went through something just as hard.’

‘I was a father … I had the high, I’d been told that it was successful. It is the most heart-wrenching thing I’ve ever had to go through,’ he explained.

According to news.com.au, Tim and his long-term friend decided to have a baby and co-parent in 2018.

But they were devastated when their surrogate lost the baby shortly before he was set to announce the news to his family.
