‘We’ve watched friends go to hell and back’: Nicole Kidman reveals how she and Keith Urban navigated their way through the height of the pandemic at their Nashville home

Nicole Kidman and her country music star husband Keith Urban navigated their way through the height of the coronavirus pandemic in March, at their Nashville home.

In an interview with Australian newspaper The Daily Telegraph on Friday, the 53-year-old actress said they have remained ‘healthy and safe’ by hunkering down and doing ‘what they were told’.

‘We’ve watched friends go to hell and back and have watched the world navigate this together, and I think we are all just going, “Is this really happening?”‘ she continued.

Like others, Nicole has often questioned this period of time, with husband Keith, 52.

‘Keith and I have that conversation where we go, “I can’t even believe this has happened”,’ she also told the publication.

Last month, Keith, who is used to entertaining his fans out on the road, recalled the struggle of spending three months in lockdown at their Nashville estate.

Speaking to Australian newspaper The Sunday Telegraph’s Stellar magazine, Keith admitted that he still has ‘a little bit of PTSD’ (post-traumatic stress disorder).

The comments were made in relation to Keith’s single Out The Cage from his new album, that was written in June, three months into lockdown.

Out The Cage explores the feelings that come with being in lockdown – being confined, missing socialisation and the loss of freedom.

‘We’d been in lockdown since March. I was ready to get out and do things, I poured it into that song. I still have a little PTSD about lockdown,’ Keith told Stellar magazine.

The four-time Grammy Award-winner is now predominantly based in Byron Bay, Australia where Nicole is busy filming her $100million series Nine Perfect Strangers.

Keith wed Nicole in 2006, and they share daughters Sunday Rose, 12, and Faith Margaret, nine.
