Former rugby league WAG Phoebe Burgess likes to get dressed-up in designer labels while posing in the backyard of her parents’ Southern Highlands estate.

And the 31-year-old was up to her old tricks again on Wednesday, as she modelled a chic outfit worth almost $20,000 while posing in a lush green paddock.

The former journalist wore Sportscraft’s new checkered pants-and-blazer combination while striking a number of poses by a wire fence.

Phoebe paired the suit with Saint Laurent love-heart sunglasses, worth around $500.

She completed her outfit with rope heels and two Cartier love bangles, which have a combined price of $16,650.

The Bowral-based socialite styled her blonde tresses down and opted for a glossy makeup palette and rouge lipstick.

Phoebe penned a short caption about the significance of the outfit.

‘The suit. Constantly reinventing itself, charging down dress codes and becoming, arguably, the modern woman’s LBD,’ she wrote.

‘The suit is boss, chic, effortless, sexy and powerful – all in one.’

It comes after Phoebe faced criticism earlier in the month for still going by her married name after her nasty divorce from retired NRL star Sam Burgess.

Some of her fans found it unusual she hadn’t gone back to using her maiden name, Hooke, given the serious allegations levelled against Sam concerning his behaviour during their marriage.

‘You need to change your surname – a man who disrespected you so much – you need to be you again,’ one person wrote.

‘You’re a trooper… But change your Mrs status… you’re not his Mrs… you belong to you,’ another added.

There are many reasons why a woman may wish to keep her married name after divorce. For example, she may want to have the same name as her children.

Fortunately, most of Phoebe’s followers were less concerned about her surname, and instead offered their support.

Phoebe shares daughter Poppy, three, and son Billy, one, with her ex-husband. She and Sam finalised their divorce in April this year.

At the time, The Daily Telegraph reported that Phoebe had walked away with 70 per cent of the former couple’s marital wealth.

She also took ownership of a white SDVA Range Rover valued at $100,000, as well as Sam’s F45 gym in Bowral, which she subsequently sold for a $250,000 profit.

On October 2, Sam was formally stood down from his coaching role at the South Sydney Rabbitohs after claims about his marriage and wild lifestyle were published in The Australian newspaper.
