Peter Stefanovic says he is happy to be in the US

He announced he was expecting his second child with Sylvia Jeffreys over the weekend. 

But just days later, 38-year-old Sky News presenter Peter Stefanovic packed his bags and jetted off to the US for a solo work trip. 

Posting to Instagram on Wednesday, he shared a behind-the-scenes picture from the set and explained that he is glad to be back in the country. 

‘Good to be back US,’ he captioned the post.  

In the image, Peter is beaming as he stands in front of the White House in Washington D.C.

He looks dashing in a navy blazer and white shirt, which he has paired with jeans and suede boots. 

The journalist has travelled to the US to report on the elections, which will take place on November 3. 

Of course, the father-of-one is no doubt missing his eight month old son Oscar and his pregnant wife, who both remain in Australia.  

Sylvia, 34, shared the exciting news of the couple’s pregnancy to Instagram on Saturday, telling fans that they will welcome another son next year.

Alongside a photo of Peter holding up their son, Sylvia, 34, wrote: ‘When you find out you’re getting a best bud for life.

‘Oscar’s little brother due in April next year. We are so lucky,’ she added, tagging her husband.

Pete and Sylvia tied the knot in a romantic ceremony in 2017, and welcomed their first child, Oscar in February this year.
