Naughty’s owner, known by her surname Zhang, told MailOnline that her dog would often wait for her by the window until she gets back from work.
‘He does it very often. Most of the time, he would spend the entire morning just waiting there,’ Ms Zhang said. ‘Sometimes he would maybe take a short nap in the afternoon.’
The pet owner, living in Shenyang city of north-eastern China, has been documenting her dog’s daily life on the Chinese TikTok-like Douyin.
She shared the footage last Wednesday after spotting the scene on her home security camera.
At around 7.30am, Naughty is seen leaning against the window and looking down as it watched Ms Zhang leaving the block and going to work.

‘It broke my heart seeing that footage,’ the dog owner said. ‘But I have no other way.’

‘I try my best to take him everywhere to play during weekends and holidays. I also considered keeping another dog, but I was worried that they would both wait for me. I would be even more heart-broken.’
