The truth about ‘ghosting’: Former Bachelor Matty Johnson reveals why some men just ‘disappear’ while casually dating women

Former Bachelor Matty Johnson has revealed why some men have a propensity to ‘ghost’ women during casual relationship.

The 32-year-old appeared on his fiancée Laura Byrne’s Life Uncut podcast on Tuesday, and was asked for a male perspective on the phenomenon.

‘Guys are cowards… we are also just really pathetic,’ Matty said, candidly.

Matty explained that men don’t want to ‘hurt people’s feelings’, adding that ‘no one wants to be the bad guy’ after losing interest in a casual relationship.

‘It’s okay for the most part. But sometimes you really just need to be honest,’ he said, making it clear he doesn’t approve of ghosting.

‘Sometimes you need to deliver bad news to people even though you know it will hurt their feelings,’ he stressed.

Matt added that men are ‘very lazy’ and sometimes think it’s easier to just disappear than have a difficult conversation with a woman.

‘I think it’s so easy now [with Tinder] if you have someone you don’t have a great relationship with… you can just pick your phone up and find someone new,’ he said.

Life Uncut host Brittany Hockley chimed in, saying that she no longer ghosts men on dating apps and is instead always ‘upfront’ when ending things.

Matt was filling in for Laura on the podcast because she was sick with a ‘virus’ this week. The couple are expecting their second child together.

The pair, who already have a one-year-old daughter named Marlie Mae, made the surprise announcement in September.

‘Marlie-Mae learning shocked face couldn’t have been timed any better.. WE’RE HAVING A BABY!’ Matty wrote alongside a family photo on Instagram.

In April last year, the loved-up couple got engaged while on holiday in Fiji.
