An Irish comedian took an impromptu bubble bath after someone dumped a load of soap powder into a fountain in Dublin city centre.

The comedian, Fabu-D, stripped down to his pants and sat in the frigid water in the fountain in College Green on Dame Street.

The Nigerian-born entertainer approached the fountain which was covered in bubbles.

Fabu-D, who was born in Nigeria, told passers-by: ‘About time, about time they put washing up liquid in this country’

Public fountains in Dublin have been regularly targeted by pranksters with city officials forced to move the Anna Livia statue – installed to celebrate Dublin’s millennium in 1988 – because people continually filled the pool with washing up liquid, leaving O’Connell Street covered in suds.

Even the fountain on the plinth outside Leinster House, which is home to Dail Eireann, has been targeted with foam.

Approaching the fountain, Fabu-D said: ‘About time, about time they put washing up liquid in this country.’

The comedian said: ‘Jesus Christ guys, what’s going on here. Free hand sanitiser wha?’

He starts leaning over the fountain, grabbing handfuls of the suds as cars and buses drive by.

The fountain, which is in the middle of College Green, is only a short distance from Trinity College and Temple Bar.

He continued: ‘That’s nice. That’s what happens when you come to Dublin, you get free hand sanitiser.’

After about 30-seconds, Fabu-D began scooping up handfuls of the foam and stuffed it into his shirt.

He told viewers: ‘I might as well rob some and take it home. Free santiser boys.’

Shortly afterwards, the comedian started removing his clothes and told people nearby: ‘Wash your f****** hands, yeah, f*** the corona, I’m having a bubble bath, wha.

‘I’m going to take a shower and free bubble bath in the middle of Dublin.’
