Lindy Klim reveals she and her family have contracted dengue fever while living in Bali… but refuses to go to hospital out of fear of getting COVID

Lindy Rama-Ellis (formerly Klim) has revealed she’s contracted dengue fever in Bali, but can’t go to the hospital out of fear of catching COVID-19.

The 43-year-old ex-wife of Australian swimming legend Michael Klim shared her struggle with the mosquito-borne viral disease.

Lindy revealed her husband, Adam Ellis, and four children – Stella, 13, Frankie, eight, Rocco, 11, and Goldie, three – had contracted it, too.

Sick: Lindy Rama-Ellis (formerly Klim) has revealed she’s contracted dengue fever in Bali, but can’t go to the hospital out of fear of catching COVID-19

She told The Herald Sun on Thursday that the family is bedridden and ‘still recovering’ in their Balinese home.

‘We didn’t want to go to the hospital in case we caught COVID-19. We are still recovering. We have to wear face masks but life is normal, they’re not locking things down,’ she told the publication.

‘It’s sad for the locals because 80 to 90 per cent of tourists have gone and there’s no other form of income so crime and homelessness is running rife.

‘They just figure if you get [coronavirus], you get it. Malaria and typhoid are more common and they are way worse. It’s super sad.’

The revelation comes after Lindy launched her ‘ultimate pampering product’, which claims to reduce vulva ‘wrinkles’, produce ‘better textures’ and soothe ailments including itchiness and acne.

The Fig Femme brand was slammed by Australian sexologist Dr Nikki Goldstein in September, who argued gynaecological problems and concerns should be dealt with by medically trained professionals, not ‘intimate wellness’ companies.

‘If there is something that doesn’t feel or seem right, it’s a doctor that needs to be consulted, not a beauty brand,’ she told Daily Mail Australia, adding ‘intimate’ beauty products are problematic for suggesting there’s something wrong with vaginas.

‘Women need to be educated on how to keep their vulvas healthy, not given another so-called wellness product.

‘It’s okay to have blemishes on your vulva. We should be getting to the point of embracing our vulvas just the way they are and focusing on keeping them healthy, not “improving” their appearance.’
