Big Brother All-Stars: Nicole Franzel wins veto power and keeps Christmas Abbott and Memphis Garrett

Nicole Franzel won the power of veto and used it to keep Christmas Abbott and Memphis Garrett on the block on Wednesday’s episode of Big Brother: All-Stars.

The 28-year-old Head of Household was sure she made the right choice, envisioning her final win and adding, ‘Now, I just need to make sure that everything goes according to plan.’

Nicole had targeted Memphis, 37, because he was too good at competitions.

‘I don’t really like him a ton and I don’t want to take him to Final Two,’ she pointed out. ‘Why would I keep him in this house?’

Nicole, however, wasn’t the only one who would be voting during the elimination ceremony on Thursday. Instead, the decision would be left up to best pals Cody Calafiore, 29, and Enzo Palumbo, 42.

They were the only two players in the house to make it all season without being on the block, and they shared a Wise Guys alliance with Memphis that Nicole didn’t know about.

Memphis felt certain that the men would save him, though they had soured on his double-dealing somewhat and Cody conceded that he might not stick his neck out for him.

Unaware of this, Christmas, 38, urged Enzo to backdoor Cody if he won veto power, but Enzo secretly dismissed the idea, saying he wouldn’t evict his ‘number-one guy… you dodo.’

‘Up until now, it seemed like Memphis was the bigger target, but now that Christmas is trying to make these big moves, it’s scaring me a little bit,’ he said, wondering if he should switch his vote.

Enzo tried to tell Nicole ‘how ruthless Christmas is,’ but she wasn’t moved, saying she still wanted to take Memphis out as to do otherwise would be ‘the stupidest thing.’

Cody reflected on why he wanted to win the $500,000 prize: To launch the next chapter of his life with his girlfriend, who’d was in remission from non-Hodgkins’ lymphoma.

Christmas also wanted to win the game for her family, noting that she had named her son Loyal because she valued the tight connection her relatives shared.

She asked Nicole to form a Final Two with her, saying, ‘I don’t want these three dudes to pull us along and pluck us off. That would infuriate me.’

Nicole had a Final Two with Cody, but she was open to making a new alliance.

‘At this point in the game, I want to be protected from as many angles as possible,’ she said.

To make sure they had it right, they had to repeatedly ‘visit’ the finished book on a zipline, and confirm that they hadn’t chosen the wrong pages to include.

Nicole won the game in 11 minutes, narrowly beating Cody but trouncing Memphis, who took nearly 32 minutes to put everything together.

‘Now I’m definitely All-Star material, right?’ Nicole crowed.

After the game, Memphis hugged Christmas, with whom he had a Final Two.

‘No hard feelings no matter what, right?’ he asked, privately recognizing that she probably wasn’t going to ‘pull off the Christmas Day miracle that she was hoping for.’

In a room nearby, Enzo told Cody to think hard about who they needed to evict, pointing out that Memphis wouldn’t cut them, but Christmas would.

They knew it would upset Nicole, but they felt they had no other choice than to evict her.

‘Nicole wants Memphis out this week, but Christmas is the only person in this game that I don’t have a Final Two with,’ Cody noted. ‘If we decide to send the wrong person home this week, that could be the decision that ends up costing me $500,000.’

Ignorant of his plan, Nicole told Christmas she definitely wasn’t going home this week.

‘Trust me, Christmas, if I leave you on the block, you’re going to stay,’ she said.

Christmas wasn’t so sure.

‘I think with Cody and Enzo having the vote, I don’t think they’re willing to listen to you,’ she worried. ‘They’ll do whatever they want. And I don’t know what they believe is their best interest.’

She made the point again that leaving Cody in the house would be dangerous.

‘I believe that if Cody goes into next week, he’s gonna be Final Two,’ Christmas said. ‘And then he’ll take whoever he wants. ‘Cause he’s gonna smoke us all.’

‘I don’t see anyone beating Cody,’ Nicole agreed.

Despite Christmas’ words, she decided not to change her block nominations, or backdoor Cody.

In fact, Nicole felt confident her plan was a solid one, and was already looking forward to possibly being ‘the first two-time BB winner.’

Cody, faced with a big decision, spoke to Nicole through the camera, and apologized.

‘Nicole, I know we’ve been working together throughout this entire game, and I love you,’ he said. ‘But I need to figure out what’s best for me. It might not be what you want this week.’

Big Brother: All-Stars will return Thursday on CBS.
