The very heated moment foreman Dan Reilly comes to blows with Daniel Joyce on The Block

Foreman Dan Reilly had a tense confrontation with contestant Daniel Joyce on Wednesday’s episode of The Block, accusing him of lying. 

After inspecting Daniel’s newly renovated attic space, Dan told the 35-year-old carpenter that he still needed to sign off on the area.

But Daniel assured Dan that fellow foreman Keith Schleiger had already approved it, which turned out to be false, leading to a heated argument between the two men.  

Daniel told Dan he was almost finished work on the area, and said he was preparing to ‘seal her up’.

‘Before we do anything, we’re going to have to inspect all the frames, subfloor, all the connections,’ explained Dan.

But Daniel insisted there weren’t any problems, and claimed Keith had already been through.

‘Yeah, well, Keith checked it all yesterday, so yeah, all good, mate,’ Daniel assured him. 

But after calling Keith, Dan discovered no inspection had been carried out on Daniel’s attic, and he decided to confront him about it.

‘Run me through exactly what happened,’ Dan asked Daniel, who admitted he hadn’t been present for Keith’s supposed inspection.

Dan then asked Daniel if Keith had actually done an inspection, and he assured him that he had.

‘Yeah, Keith was up there three or four times, looking at it all day,’ insisted Daniel.

‘So, I’ve just gotten off the phone with Keith. He said he was up there overseeing, but he’s never done a formal inspection whatsoever,’ stated Dan.

The fed up foreman added: ‘That concerns me, because I feel like I’ve been lied to. Like, this is a mutual respect.’

A defensive Daniel then asked Dan who he thought was lying, before claiming that he ‘never said Keith ticked it off’.

‘No, the exact words were: “Keith has inspected this already,”‘ interrupted Dan.

Dan told Daniel it was ‘a two-way trust’, and Daniel insisted he didn’t have ‘a trust issue’. 

‘If you feel I’ve lied to you, well, mate, that’s bulls**t. Absolute bulls**t,’ he fumed.

A furious Daniel then turned to leave, as Dan told him, ‘There’s no point shaking your head, mate. That’s how it is.’

Determined to have the last word, Daniel accused Dan of branding him ‘a liar’.

‘Yeah, that’s fine, but you just called me a liar, mate… There’s no way that I’ve been lying to you, so you can go and check whatever you like up there,’ he continued.

A disbelieving Dan told Daniel he was getting an engineer to come out and inspect the attic, to make sure everything was up to code.

‘F**king bulls**t, mate. Call me a liar, you f**king [censored],’ Daniel ranted as he stormed off. 

He later added: ‘Don’t come into my house and tell me we’re trying to hide things and stuff like that. It’s all in there for everybody to have a look at…

‘He said I’d broken his trust and all the other bulls**t that he had, and I wasn’t putting up with that. That’s crap.’
