‘It gets to a point where I can’t be strong anymore’: The Block’s Sarah Bragias curls up in bed as she admits she’s ‘exhausted’ and her concerned husband George breaks down in tears

After a challenging few weeks on The Block, contestants George and Sarah Bragias were left distraught during Wednesday’s episode.

An ‘exhausted’ Sarah, 27, struggled to get out of bed, while her ‘worried’ husband broke down in tears as the couple’s strained budget took a toll.

‘Budget’s looking very grim. Very grim,’ confessed Sarah.

With a $21,000 budget and only a spare $580 left in their kitty, George, 33, and Sarah were forced to ask their tradespeople to take a pay cut.

‘It’s just a sad scenario this week, because we’ve had to ask our trades for help. You know, help us out, please. I hate asking them to cut pay and stuff,’ she added.

George described it as ‘heartbreaking’, and admitted he was ‘disappointed’ he and Sarah were yet to score a coveted win, which would boost their budget.

A dejected Sarah then tearfully confessed she was ‘exhausted’, as George urged her to have a rest.

‘Why don’t you just have a lay down for an hour or two? Just have a lay down, I’ll hold the fort. Have a nap,’ he suggested.

He added: ‘Everyone feels it when you’re not happy.’

'It gets to a point where I can't be strong anymore, and then I just let all that out, and that's just an eruption of emotion,' she confessed

Sarah then closed the curtains and curled up in bed, explaining to the show’s producers that she needed ‘a little bit of time out’.

Meanwhile, George admitted he was ‘worried about Sarah’, his voice cracking as he struggled to hold back tears.

‘It’s alright, mate. You’ll get through it. It’s just hard to see your loved one going through difficult times,’ a producer offered as George started to cry.

George simply nodded in agreeance and overcome with emotion, quietly added: ‘And that’s the hardest thing.’

‘Yeah, she’s taken it to heart, man. She’s a big soul. Constant misses, it’s hard for her. So, yeah… I feel sorry for her,’ he explained.
