Cue Theresa, who arrives in the village amid her family’s despair, and according to Jorgie, she’s not exactly going to be a shoulder to cry on.

Discussing what fans could expect of Theresa’s return, she said: ‘Fans can expect her to be her usual, loving but naughty self.

‘She comes back to the village with an agenda, but we’re not really sure why yet. I can assure you she is her pure sassy self! She gets up to tricks!’

With the storyline just beginning to unfold, Jorgie teased that there’s set to be friction among the clan as their loyalty and trust is tested, while Theresa becomes embroiled in the drama.

She explained: ‘Theresa had a lot of secrets and obviously the whole country know her secrets. But it’s also going back to the McQueens and learning their secrets as well, which is pretty tricky.

‘It also causes a bit of jeopardy between the McQueens, but it also brings them together. However, they then also get suspicious of each other! Theresa’s secrets being outed with the new McQueens as well, it’s an interesting aspect to the family being together as one.’

Meanwhile, the soap siren, who was last seen on Hollyoaks in March 2016, told how it’ll be interesting to see how Theresa will interact with newer McQueens who arrived in the fictional Chester village after her character’s departure.

She said: ‘There’s old stuff coming out and obviously new things that she’s learning about them all. There’s actually that’s actually some cool secrets that I’ve actually just seen and I’m like “whoa this is cool!”

‘There’s so many McQueens that Theresa hasn’t met yet like Goldie (Chelsee Healey), Cher (Bethannie Hare) and Sylver, so there’s a lot of new angles. But also she’s been involved with a lot of characters in the past, so she’s got a lot of history with them as well.’

Having been away from the soap so long, Jorgie admitted she was anxious stepping back on set.

‘I’m not going to lie, I was very very nervous!’ she exclaimed. ‘I was very scared, and I thought I’d be really rubbish!

‘I thought “What if every body hates me and I can’t do my job?” But the crew and the cast were so welcoming, it was like I’d been away for 5 days max, not 5 years. I found it secure, it’s like my second home, so it’s been great.’

However, one thing she wasn’t a fan of was the Channel 4 soap’s new socially distanced filming measures, which were introduced in light of the coronavirus pandemic.

‘I hate it! I miss the old days when we were able to cuddle each other and obviously be next to each other’ Jorgie declared.

‘It is frustrating but obviously we’re doing it for the sake of everyone and it is important.

‘There’s just things like doing our own hair and make-up, so it is completely different. We just have to adapt to certain situations and we have to just get on with it!’

Jorgie’s return episode airs Wednesday 14th October on E4 at 7pm and again on Thursday 15th October on Channel 4 at 6.30pm.
