Westminster Bridge is closed as armed police deal with ‘security alert’ at St Thomas’s Hospital

Westminster Bridge has been shut after police rushed to deal with a ‘security alert’ at St Thomas’ Hospital in London.

A witness described how people had been ‘pushed back out to Westminster bridge’.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: ‘Police are dealing with a security alert at St Thomas’ Hospital, SE1. We will provide further info when known.’
