Ryan Reynolds reignites his feud with Hugh Jackman as he playfully trolls him on his birthday

They’re good friends in real life, but have been dragging out a fictitious feud in the media for several years.

And on Monday, Ryan Reynolds couldn’t resist playfully trolling Hugh Jackman as he celebrated his 52nd birthday.

The Canadian-American actor, 43, shared a video to his Instagram stories, telling the Wolverine star he’d be celebrating alone this year as he had flown his wife Deborra-Lee Furness and children to Atlanta.

‘Hey Hugh, I just want to wish you a happy birthday and tell you I love you. I’m down here in Atlanta so wish I could be celebrating with you,’ Ryan said.

‘You may notice it’s a little quiet around the house this morning, that’s because I flew Deb, the kids, the dogs, your friends and furniture here to celebrate your birthday with me.’

He ended: ‘We’re having an amazing time and we miss you.’

Hugh and Ryan’s hilarious rivalry began around the time Ryan starred in 2016 Marvel film, Deadpool.

In April, Hugh said he struggled to remember the specifics, but it did start over Ryan’s ex-wife, Scarlett Johansson, who he was married to from 2008 until 2011.

‘It’s gone back so long now… God, this is a classic sign where your feud has gone too long, where you don’t even know why or how it started!’ he told Daily Beast.

‘I met him back on Wolverine, and I used to ream him because I was very close friends with Scarlett.

‘Scarlett had just married Ryan, so when he came on set I was like, “Hey, you better be on your best behaviour here, pal, because I’m watching”, and we started ribbing each other that way.’

Hugh said things ‘escalated’ after Ryan, 43, took on the role of Deadpool, proving to be a rival to his portrayal of Wolverine.

And he claimed Ryan had used social media to ‘manipulate’ him in recent years, with the two men regularly poking fun at each other on Instagram.
