Phillip Schofield is left red-faced as his phone goes off during This Morning and he quickly has to scramble to put it on silent

Phillip Schofield was left red-faced when his phone went off live on Tuesday’s edition of This Morning.

The TV presenter, 58, and his co-host Holly Willoughby were introducing a segment on a viral Facebook post about a school dinner-themed meal when he received a text message.

Surprised by the sound, Phil quickly scrambled to take his phone out of his pocket as Holly continued to talk about the post.

Oops: Phillip Schofield was left red-faced as his phone went off during Tuesday’s This Morning and he quickly had to scramble to put it on silent

As he turned off the sound on his device, he grimaced and said: ‘I’m just turning my phone off to silent. Sorry, sorry.’

Holly remained unperturbed as she simply laughed at Phil’s blunder, and jokingly said: ‘Well done you.’

Moving on from the interruption, Holly and Phil kept talking about the school dinner which featured a plate of turkey dinosaurs, potato faces, and baked beans amongst other things.

Last week it was Holly’s turn to be flustered, as she giggled over a banana that had ‘some girth’ during the show.

The TV presenter and her co-star were in hysterics as they had a look at an accidentally racy snap as it featured two bananas in one piece of fruit.

Discussing the picture, Holly and Phil began to laugh after she said: ‘It has got some girth, I’ll give him that.

‘But look at the difference in colour from one side of the banana skin to the other, one of those bananas is older than the other for a start.

‘One is not even ripe, the other is a few days old, and I have a banana here, I remember there was a trick you can do where you cut the banana and you open it it’s all in bits.’

Trying to prove her point, Holly then tried to cut a banana in half using a long needle that also didn’t break the skin, which Phil also tried out.

As Phil cut the banana in half in a way that mimicked the photo, he joked: ‘I can’t believe we are doing this on TV!’

The pair then couldn’t help but laugh as they saw an array of other snaps of fruit and vegetables that were inadvertently racy.
