Karl Stefanovic offers Kerri-Anne Kennerley a job two months after she was axed from Network 10

‘Do you want to come and do reports on the Today show?’ Karl Stefanovic offers Kerri-Anne Kennerley a job two months after the veteran TV host was axed from Network 10

She was brutally dumped from Network 10 in August, and on Monday, Karl Stefanovic offered Kerri-Anne Kennerley a job on the Today show.

The 46-year-old Today host began by telling Kerri-Anne that her axing from the rival network had been a ‘travesty’.

Kerri-Anne, 67, told Karl she wasn’t looking to get back into TV, admitting the fickle nature of the industry means ‘you’re in or you’re out’.

But Karl persisted, describing Kerri-Anne as ‘one of the best TV talents I’ve ever seen anywhere around the world’.

Meanwhile, his co-host, Allison Langdon, said she felt like Karl was on the verge of offering Kerri-Anne a job at Nine.

‘Do you want to come and do reports on the Today show?’ he asked her outright, adding, ‘Ally has the chequebook out, she has the money tree in the backyard.’

Kerri-Anne confessed that for the right price, she’d be happy to sign on, having been a Channel Nine stalwart in the past.

‘You just tell me how much and I will take it out of his pay cheque and we’re good,’ joked Allison, 41.

Kerri-Anne hosted Nine’s Midday program from 1996 until 1998, before hosting What’s Cooking the following year, which also aired on Nine.

She moved to Network 10 in 2001, but her stint at the rival network was short-lived, and she returned to Nine in 2002, where she was given her own show, Kerri-Anne.

In 2018, she moved back to Network 10, becoming a regular panellist on Studio 10.
