‘You know what? I literally am supposed to be on a conference call today about bringing Coyote Ugly back,’ Tyra said on the talk show.

‘Yeah, so Maria Bello – what up Maria Bello! – one of the stars of Coyote Ugly, we were supposed to be on a call today and I’m talking to you and I can’t talk to them! But it’s fine because I’m talking to them right now.’

The original movie was directed by David McNally, who went on to also helm Kangaroo Jack, and became a box office hit when it bowed in 2000.

Tyra, Piper, Bridget and Izabella star in the movie musical as the staff of a New York City bar called Coyote Ugly whose owner is played by Maria.

While appearing on The Kelly Clarkson Show this week Tyra remembered her audition process for the film.

At that point she had yet to create and star in America’s Next Top Model but was already a successful model and actress.

She told Kelly that ‘for my audition for Coyote Ugly they asked me what song that I wanted to play. They had like three songs. I was like: “Okay, I’ll take Prince’s Kiss.” And they’re like: “Okay, just dance for, you know, a couple of seconds.”‘

Tyra recalled: ‘So they push play, I’m in this huge hotel room, all these casting people lined up looking at me, and I’m dancing, I’m head-whipping and doing all this stuff. And I’m like, okay, 20 minutes – 20 seconds go by, 30, a minute, minute and a half, three minutes. The whole song I ended up dancing.’

She said that ‘after I’m out of breath and then they all just started laughing. They’re like: “We are so sorry but we were enjoying that so much we kept the music going.”‘

With hindsight Tyra laughed about it saying: ‘I was sweating. I was like – like the nasty sweat Kelly after. And so I was kinda mad but then I ended up getting the part so then I wasn’t mad, you know?’

Tyra was appearing on Kelly’s chat show to promote her new gig as hostess of Dancing With The Stars replacing the beloved Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews.

On this week’s episode Tyra accidentally announced one of the wrong pairs when naming the bottom two couples up for elimination.

She chalked the mishap up to ‘an error in our control room’ and judge Bruno Tonioli has since shed light on the problem.

He informed Entertainment Tonight that Tyra was getting conflicting information from her cue cards and her earpiece, saying the hostess ‘was brilliant’ and noting that ‘she was really good because she took control of the situation.’

As for her own dancing since her Coyote Ugly days Tyra said: ‘I feel like I do have the dance moves as long as no one choreographs me and tells me how to dance.

‘But Derek Hough is new judge this season on Dancing With The Stars and so I’m kinda tempted to ask him to choreograph like 16 counts for me to see if I can do it. I haven’t asked him yet but I’m asking you know Derek, can you choreograph that for me? And I wanna do something. I feel like I need to do something so we’ll see.’
