EXCLUSIVE: Strictly Come Dancing live tour is DELAYED until 2022 due to the COVID-19 crisis… as the pros show makes a sparkling return next year

The Strictly Come Dancing Tour has been pushed back until 2022 in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The live showcase – which sees celebrities and their professional partners perform in arenas across the country – has been delayed by a year due to the current crisis.

However Strictly fans won’t have to go without their usual fix of dancing and sparkles, as it’s also been announced that the professionals will be taking the road for two sensational tours next year.

Typically the Strictly tour kicks off the January after the series has ended, with a selection of celebrity couples competing to win the live audience’s vote.

However due to social distancing concerns the show will instead be delayed until a year later, and will kick off in Birmingham on 20th January, 2022.

The tour will then travel to arenas in Leeds, Newcastle, Manchester, Sheffield, Liverpool, Glasgow, Nottingham and London, with tickets set to go on sale at 10am on Friday, 16th October.

Strictly fans will still get to enjoy some live dance performances, as it’s been revealed the The Professionals tour will return on 7th May 2021.

Set to take to the dancefloor this year are stars including actress Caroline Quentin, The Wanted’s Max George, boxer Nicola Adams and Made In Chelsea star Jamie Laing.

Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday, 17th October on BBC One.
