Dave Hughes looked virtually unrecognisable in a selfie he posted on Instagram on Thursday.

The 49-year-old comedian shared a photo of himself looking puffy and red-faced after undergoing a mystery skin treatment. 

‘Getting a new face in lockdown. Sun damage be gone,’ he captioned the photo.

He added that his colleagues weren’t so sure about his new look, and had been making jokes about his appearance.  

‘Team at @hughesyanded reckon I’m rocking a cabbage patch doll look,’ he wrote.

And they weren’t the only ones, with his fans having plenty to say about his appearance in the comments section on his post.

‘I reckon it’s more the “let’s exhume the body” look,’ quipped one person, while another wrote, ‘More like Chucky doll not cabbage patch’.  

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Hughesy for comment. 

In an interview with News.com.au in December 2018, Hughesy confessed people have been talking about his appearance for years.
