‘We’re not keen on that whole Bondi vibe’: The Bachelor’s Locky Gilbert takes a swipe at runner-up Bella Varelis and her fame-hungry co-stars
Many contestants from this year’s season of The Bachelor have flocked to paparazzi hotspot Bondi Beach in an attempt to get noticed.
And on Tuesday, leading man Locky Gilbert, 31, took a subtle swipe at some of these fame-hungry bachelorettes – including runners-up Bella Varelis and Bec Cvilikas – in an eyebrow-raising Instagram post.
He shared a photo from his ‘secret’ camping trip in the Hunter Valley with winner Irena Srbinovska, and couldn’t resist making a sly reference in the comments section to some of the recent Bondi sightings.

‘We have to have some secrets,’ he responded to a fan.
‘We not too keen on the whole Bondi vibe. Give us the mountains any day,’ he added alongside a crying-with-laughter emoji.

Last week, the reality TV couple revealed they made their first trip to Bondi together, and admitted it wasn’t as good as they’d expected it to be.
In a video uploaded to Instagram at the time, Locky and Irena revealed the over-populated beach was not their scene.
It comes just days after nurse Irena took a subtle swipe at her former co-stars who had wasted no time applying for the ‘blue tick’ on Instagram.

‘I’m not about being an influencer, just about being real,’ she told Daily Mail Australia.
Irena also clarified that she hadn’t received a blue tick yet for one simple reason. ‘I haven’t even applied for it,’ she said. ‘I don’t really care about it.’
Her pointed remark came just days after fans noticed that Bella and Bec, who placed second and third respectively on The Bachelor, were verified on Instagram.
Some thought it was unusual that the aspiring ‘Insta models’ would get the blue tick before Irena, who actually won Locky’s heart on the show.
