Harrison Ford, 78, looks sprightly as ever in slim fitting jeans and T-shirt… while he runs errands in LA

Harrison Ford looked spry as ever when he was glimpsed surfacing from self-isolation in Los Angeles this Wednesday.

The 78-year-old Star Wars icon could be seen taking a broken lamp into a shop in Santa Monica to have it repaired.

He tucked a navy T-shirt into a pair of dark fitted jeans, rounding off the look with black sneakers and snappy shades.

Steven Spielberg was previously going to helm the fifth film, having already directed the first four, but stepped down from the position this February.

He will apparently remain quite involved as a producer on the movie, which is to be directed by James Mangold of Ford Vs. Ferrari fame.

Screenwriter David Koepp was also in and out of the project and left for the last time with the arrival of James into the director’s chair.

‘I tried a couple different versions with Steven and they all had some good stuff about them and they all had some stuff that didn’t work, which happens,’ David explained in an interview with Den Of Geek last month.

‘But it was just very hard to have everybody come together and have all the elements – Steven, Harrison, the script and Disney – come together at once. And it didn’t.’

The film will now be written by Jonathan Kasdan whose father Lawrence wrote the original Indiana Jones film Raiders Of The Lost Ark.
