‘They’re ALL fame hungry!’ Bachelor fans throw shade at Locky Gilbert after he and Irena Srbinovska said they ‘prefer the mountains to Bondi’ and don’t care about Instagram
Fans of The Bachelor franchise have criticised Locky Gilbert for a perceived swipe at some of the fame-hungry contestants from his season of the dating show.
In an Instagram comment this week, Locky raised eyebrows when he said that both he and girlfriend Irena Srbinovska weren’t fans of Sydney’s Bondi – which is a well-known celebrity hotspot frequented by reality stars.
‘We’re not too keen on the whole Bondi vibe. Give us the mountains any day,’ he wrote, alongside a crying-with-laughter emoji.

Given that Bachelor runner-ups Bella Varelis and Bec Cvilikas both live in Bondi and are models and aspiring influencers, some fans interpreted Locky’s comment as a swipe at the pair.
While many agreed with him, some fans online accused Locky of hypocrisy given his history in reality television.
The hunk shot to fame on Australian Survivor in 2017 before returning for the All Stars season earlier this year and then doing The Bachelor.

‘Oh yeah and Locky was on the show to find love!’ one wrote sarcastically. ‘All are money and fame hungry.’
Another wrote: ‘I’m sorry but how many shows have you been on buddy.’
