Big Brother All-Stars: Cody Calafiore nominates Christmas Abbott and Tyler Crispen for eviction

Christmas Abbott and Tyler Crispen were put up for elimination by Head of Household Cody Calafiore on Monday’s episode of Big Brother: All-Stars.

The pair’s nomination meant that The Committee—the six-person alliance involving them and the other four remaining houseguests—had officially disbanded.

And in a behind-the-scenes look at what really happened during last week’s three-person eviction, neither one of them seemed to win themselves any support.

Daniele Donato, 33, had been the first Committee member evicted from the house, after free agents Kevin Campbell, 40, and David Alexander, 30, were summarily booted.

‘The Committee has been running things since Day One,’ observed Robert ‘Memphis’ Garrett, 37, an early member. ‘Now that we’ve sent home Kevin and David, it was inevitable that The Committee was gonna turn on each other.’

Memphis was constantly strategizing, and had already formed two smaller alliances called The Wise Guys— one featuring Cody, 29, one with Christmas, 35, and both with Enzo Palumbo, 42.

Nicole Franzel, 28, had been up for eviction in two of the previous ceremonies, and appeared to be suffering from trauma as she lay down on the floor, overwhelmed at having survived.

Tyler, 23, and Christmas were nervous, and as a flashback to last week’s show revealed, it was because they had unsuccessfully tried to vote Nicole out and save David.

They tried to convert Enzo to their cause, but he decided at the last minute to follow the plan laid out by Cody and Memphis and keep Nicole in the house.

‘I had to make the smartest move for myself,’ Enzo explained to the cameras. ‘Tyler and Christmas, they were trying to throw Nicole under the bus, they wanted me to flip and take her out. But for me right now, it just wasn’t the right move.’

In the aftermath of the triple eviction, Tyler feared what was about to happen.

Smartest move: 'I had to make the smartest move for myself,' Enzo Palumbo explained to the cameras. 'Tyler and Christmas, they were trying to throw Nicole under the bus, they wanted me to flip and take her out. But for me right now, it just wasn't the right move

‘We had talked about, ”If you take a shot in this game and you miss, that can take you from the top to the bottom of the house quick”,’ he recalled. ‘So yeah, not good.’

Nicole learned of Tyler and Christmas’ plan from Enzo, and said, ‘Honestly, what a terrible game move on their part. They just burned their bridge from me, and I will never ever, trust them.’

Christmas knew she was in trouble.

‘I need to figure out how to maneuver out of this, how to survive,’ she mused. ‘But you know what? I’m good at survival mode. Bring it on.’

During the last of the triple evictions, Tyler had won the Head of Household competition so he could control who went on the block.

He and Christmas decided that Dani and Nicole were their biggest threats, and either would do.

To curry favor after previously disappointing Tyler and Christmas, Enzo agreed to vote Dani out.

‘Dani is the head gardener, and she is amazing at this game, and I really need her to go,’ Tyler agreed, referencing Dani’s ability to plant seeds of discord.

Both Cody and Enzo then told Dani they were saving her, but they kept Nicole instead.

After the triple eviction ended, Tyler tried to make peace with Nicole, saying he’d never had anything against her, aside from the fact that she was aligned with Dani.

Nicole immediately suspected his motives, telling the cameras, ‘Everything that comes out of Tyler’s mouth is nothing but a lie. I can’t stand to even look at him. Does he think I’m an idiot?’

With so many different agendas in play, everyone in the house wanted to win the show’s subsequent HoH competition, called Namaste Off The Block.

The houseguests had to assume yoga poses while touching a trio of electric buttons, and take off their yoga clothes without letting the buttons go. If they did let go, their personal clock would speed up, and they would fall behind their fellow housemates on time.

‘It may not be wildly crucial for me to personally win,’ Cody said privately. ‘But there’s people in this house that I want to protect.’

Over four rounds of the game, Cody won the competition with the fastest cumulative speed.

Christmas knew it might spell curtains for her, as Cody was aware that she and Tyler were working together and had just voted against his friend Nicole.

‘Ohhhhh-kay,’ Christmas sighed. ‘So I’m gonna see the block for the first time as a real option and a target, and I have to figure out how I’m gonna get out of this.’

She started to get angry with Tyler, feeling like he had thrown her ‘into the gutter’ by not ensuring that they definitely had Enzo’s vote locked down.

Memphis, Cody and Enzo decided to put Tyler and Christmas on the block for their treason.

Cody felt pretty good about his own odds, since he’d had final-two agreements with Memphis, Nicole and Enzo from the beginning of the game.

‘Clipping Christmas would be great, because I can pull Tyler in a little bit closer,’ Cody reflected. ‘It just puts me in one of the best positions in this house.’

Tyler hoped to make peace with Cody and vowed to tell him whatever he wanted to hear.

‘If I absolutely have to cut Christmas loose this week to stay in the game, I’ll do it,’ he added.

Cody welcomed Tyler’s entreaties, telling him, ‘Trust me. Bro, I like, love you.’

He wanted to prevent any cracks in their relationship, as he knew Tyler was a smart competitor who would be useful going forward.

Christmas also went to Cody and told him Tyler had set her up by asking her to flip the vote against Nicole.

‘I feel blindsided and duped,’ she lied. ‘And now that puts a big mark against me.’

Cody offered Christmas a hug, but in a confessional, he said, ‘Both of their stories don’t match up. It’s just showing me that they’re both completely full of it and willing to throw the other one under the bus in order to make it look like they weren’t the one who came up with the plan.’

‘Deciding who I want to go now is very difficult,’ he conceded. ‘It’s pretty much like picking the lesser of two evils.’

At the nomination ceremony, Cody made Tyler and Christmas his official picks for elimination, saying, ‘Something about that vote just isn’t sitting well with me. Right now I just wanted to go with my gut, and I wish you guys both the best of luck in the veto.’

‘It’s time for war, man,’ Tyler told the cameras. ‘It’s not gonna be easy to get me out of this house.’
