The admission came after shock jock Kyle Sandilands asked if Becky cries on the show, which is set to premiere on Wednesday.

Becky said that she did a fair bit of crying during filming.

‘There’s a lot of emotions going on and you have to let down some guys too that you have real connections with,’ Becky said.

She added: ‘It wasn’t clear to me at all.’

She said she made her mind up on the ‘final dates,’ before her sister Elly added that even after then, she was still conflicted.

For weeks, the defence contracting specialist, 30, had dodged questions about her relationship status before filming began in late July.

But she admitted on The Kyle and Jackie O Show that she had in fact been ‘seeing someone for a short period of time’ when producers came knocking.

‘Were you single when they approached you? Or did you have to ditch someone?’ asked Kyle.

‘If I was in a relationship, I definitely wouldn’t have gone on the show…’ Becky said, choosing her words very carefully.

But when pressed for an answer, she acknowledged that she’d been dating someone casually when she was offered The Bachelorette – but insisted it wasn’t serious.

‘I was single, but I was seeing someone for a short period of time there,’ she said.

‘Just a bang buddy?’ asked Kyle, to which Becky responded: ‘Yeah.’

She insisted that they ended things on ‘really good terms’, however, adding: ‘I was as honest as I could [be] with him.’

An incredulous Kyle asked: ‘What did you say? “Look, it’s been great rooting you, but I’m going on TV with 30 other blokes.”‘

Becky replied: ‘I said to him, “There’s this opportunity that’s come up with Elly for me. It’s a TV thing, a dating thing. Just to be clear with you, this is what I want to do.”‘
