For the fifth weekend in a row, thanks to very little competition, Tenet has remained the domestic box office champ, though its North American tally is still quite low.
The thriller from writer-director Christopher Nolan took the top spot again this weekend with a paltry $2.7 million, beating out a re-release of Disney’s Hocus Pocus, which debuted in second place with $1.9 million, according to Variety.
This brings its domestic tally to a dismal $45.1 million, though its strong performance overseas continues, with the film crossing $300 million worldwide.

Tenet earned $2.7 million from 2,722 theaters, a dip of 128 theaters from last weekend, with a per-screen average of just $991.
The film fared much better in international markets, where more theaters are open, compared to the U.S. where two huge markets – Los Angeles and New York – still have theaters closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tenet earned an additional $14.2 million globally this weekend from 59 markets, bringing the international total to $262 million and the worldwide haul to $307 million.

The Disney comedy starring Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy bumped The New Mutants down to third place this weekend.
The Disney/20th Century Fox X-Men movie earned an estimated $1 million from 2,154, for just a $464 per-screen average.

Every other movie in theaters this past weekend failed to crack the $1 million threshold, with Unhinged dropping to 4th place with $870,000 from 2,023 theaters for a $430 per-screen average.
Infidel dropping to 5th place with $455,000 from 1,792 theaters for a $253 per-screen average while the re-release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker stayed put in 6th place with $335,000 from 1,675 theaters for a per-screen average of $200.
Newcomer Possessor: Uncut debuted in 7th place with $227,500 from 320 theaters for a $710 per-screen average.
No million: Every other movie in theaters this past weekend failed to crack the $1 million threshold, with Unhinged dropping to 4th place with $870,000 from 2,023 theaters for a $430 per-screen average
The top 10 was rounded out by newcomer Save Yourselves, debuting in 9th place with $141,631 from 388 theaters for a $365 per-screen average.
The Call took the 10-spot with $140,567 from 195 for a $720 per-screen average.
The War With Grandpa starring Robert De Niro is slated to open in theaters next weekend though no theater counts are released yet.
