Inside Stacey Solomon’s surprise birthday break with boyfriend Joe Swash

Stacey Solomon’s boyfriend Joe Swash has whisked her away on a surprise birthday getaway to celebrate her 31st birthday on Sunday.

The Loose Women star, 30, took to her Instagram Stories to reveal that her actor beau, 38, had filled their £45K VW campervan with flowers, plants and a unicorn pumpkin for the weekend.

Sharing a video of inside the van, with her three children – Zachary, 12, Leighton, eight, and Rex, 17 months, strapped in ready for the getaway, Stacey gushed: ‘Off on a birthday adventure for the weekend,’ followed by a heart and crying emoji.

She added: ‘Joe decorated the van [crying emoji] I’m pretty sure this is your doing though @poppybelleflorals because these look exactly like our summer door flowers we took down the other day.’ 

Posting a picture of her beloved unicorn pumpkin, Norma, and gnome, Norm, in the campervan she quipped: ‘Don’t worry we aren’t going anywhere without these two lovebirds.’ 

Stacey also revealed that her pet dog Theo, who is turning 10 later this year, would be coming on the trip despite the pooch’s travel sickness as she didn’t want to spend her birthday without her.

As part of her birthday weekend, Joe whisked Stacey and their family to a remote countryside escape with sheep, log cabins and waterfalls.

The family-of-five were also joined by her mother, father and sister as a fun surprise.  

Documenting their stay, Stacey joked she was surprised she wasn’t staying in the van and amongst the sheep.

And on Saturday, the star gave fans a look at the accommodation in the day as she gushed over the ‘house in the hill’, even likening it to the Teletubbies.

With the family-of-five going on to enjoy an explore in the countryside and nearby waterfalls. 

Last month, Joe treated his family to a gleaming Volkswagen T6 camper van to ‘create memories’ in after travelling hundreds of miles to the north of England to pick it up.   

The former EastEnders actor, 38, purchased the pristine white van as a surprise for his girlfriend Stacey, 30, which she dubbed a ‘monstrosity’ on Saturday.

However Joe was ‘chuffed’ as he posed with the 2019 plate van from Southlands Motors in Whitley Bay, Newcastle upon Tyne, which can retail at around £45,000.  

Joe and Stacey have son Rex, 17 months, together, and have been dating since 2015. 

The singer turned presenter shares son Zachary with ex Dean Cox and Leighton with former fiancé Aaron Barham. Joe has son Harry, 13, with ex Emma Sophocleous.
