Vanderpump Rules stars Jax Taylor and wife Brittany Cartwright are expecting a baby boy

Vanderpump Rules stars Jax Taylor and wife Brittany Cartwright recently announced that they are expecting their first child together.

And the couple, who wed in 2019, learned they are having a baby boy during a festive gender reveal party on Sunday afternoon. 

‘It’s a BOY!!!!’ captioned Cartwright, 31, who shared a slew of pictures and videos from the joyous gathering to her Instagram.

The pair looked beyond thrilled with THE news as they grabbed hands and embraced one another in excitement. 

Brittany donned a polka dot mini dress and she had her lengthy brunette hair styled in curls, while Jax showed off his muscles in a white v-neck tee and a pair of blue jeans.

Before unveiling the gender of their unborn child, Brittany captured a few clips of her anxious guests who attended in person and via webcam.

The follow up post was captioned, ‘It’s a boy!’ and showed a vast amount of blue dye overtaking a swimming pool in the couple’s backyard.

Brittany took an artsy photo of herself standing at the edge of the pool in her polka dot dress as the blue water and a handful of sunflowers rested below her.

Brittany and Jax’s Vanderpump Rules co-stars Stassi Schroeder, 32, Scheana Shay, 35, and La La Kent, 30, were in attendance.

‘Ahhh about to find out,’ captioned Schroeder on one of her IG Story posts, which showed off the party’s darling decor.

There was a voting booth set-up that encouraged guests to predict what gender Jax and Brittany’s baby would be.  

An open bar could be seen in the background in one of the videos, which was overrun with pink and blue solo cups. 

There were also a ton of pink and blue deserts and the backyard was decorated in  a slew of pink, white, and gold balloons. 

As for what food was on the menu, Brittany and Jax provided guests with a giant charcuterie board filled with various fruits and cheeses.

There were also burgers, jalapeno poppers, french fries, and biscuits up for grabs. 

Kent made sure to show her support for the couple as she showcased the gender reveal party on her Instagram Story.

‘We have a little baby boy being added to the mix!’ wrote Kent, who captured the exact moment the soon-to-be parents learned they were going to have a boy.

Kent and Schroeder are also pregnant but, unlike Brittany and Jax, they are expecting baby girls. 

The gender reveal party occurred less than a week after Brittany and Jax revealed they were expecting their first child together. 

Brittany took to Instagram on Monday to share the happy news, posting a photo of the couple sitting together on their staircase and holding up their ultrasound images.

‘Mom & Dad. The love of our lives is coming soon.’ Brittany wrote in the caption.  

Jax also shared the photos on his Instagram. He gushed in his caption ‘Sooooo,……..I am gonna be Dad..’

In the cute snaps Brittany wears a floral dress as Jax, 41, sits behind her cradling her baby bump. 

In the fall-inspired snaps the couple sit surrounded by mini pumpkins. Jax looks sharp in a crisp white shirt and jeans.

The couple – who married in June 2019 in Brittany’s native Kentucky – told PEOPLE that they their baby is arriving in April 2021.

Brittany described her excitement when she found out she was pregnant.

‘We had been trying for around five months and we just can’t wait to grow our family. I had the ovulation sticks and all the apps… we were ready to go!

She told PEOPLE: ‘I woke up super early to go to the restroom and just had a feeling I should take a test and it was positive!! I cried, I laughed, we were just so happy!! Then I took three more tests and cried some more.’ 

‘I can’t wait to start shopping and getting the nursery ready. I am just so overjoyed and every day I fall more in love. Boy or girl, we are just so ecstatic!!’ Brittany gushed.

The loved-up duo opened up about their family plans to Us Weekly in April 2019. 

‘I’m definitely eager to have kids and Jax is eager to have kids,’ Brittany said.

‘He’ll be 40 two weeks after [the wedding]. I’m 30, we’re ready. We’re buying a house. When it happens it happens. We’re not going to be very careful. We’re gonna let it come with God’s grace, and he’ll give us a baby when it’s ready.’

It’s an exciting time for the SUR gang with two more babies on the way. 

Jax and Brittany’s former costar Stassi Schroeder announced her pregnancy in June. She is expecting a baby girl with fiancé Beau Clark. 

She announced the news shortly after being fired by Bravo following the controversy around some of her past racist actions. 

Stassi, 32, was dropped from the show with longtime pal Kristen Doute and two other newcomers to the reality series, Max Boyens and Brett Caprioni. 

And SUR hostess Lala Kent is expecting a baby girl with her fiancé Randall Emmett. They were planning to marry in April 18 but had to delay their wedding due to COVID-19.
