Original Purple Wiggle Jeff Fatt is returning to the group

He’s coming back! The original Purple Wiggle Jeff Fatt to replace Lachlan Gillespie following the birth of his twins with fiancée Dana Stephensen

The original Purple Wiggle, Jeff Fatt, is returning to children’s group.

The fan favourite will replace Lachlan ‘Lachy’ Gillespie while he takes some time off following the birth of his twin daughters. 

The 67-year-old has decided to return to the band to film a four-part series, The Wiggly World of Dance Classes.

The classes will be hosted on Big W’s Facebook page over the next four weeks. 

The Wiggly World of Dance Classes aims to showcase a range of dance styles that children can enjoy in the comfort of their own home.  

Jeff retired from the children’s group in 2012, but has decided to fill in for Lachy while he enjoys some bonding time with his new babies.

On Friday, Lachy announced that he and his ballet dancer fiancée, Dana Stephensen, welcomed twin daughters.  

In an Instagram post, the 34-year-old shared a photo of his newborn daughters – Lulu and Lottie – resting with their mother Dana, 34, as he looked on lovingly.

He wrote in the caption: ‘Oh Lulu and Lottie, your mummy and daddy love you with all we have – you are both so beautiful – and I would love to sing to you both forever.’

Fans were stunned, with many voicing their complete shock at the news.

One person commented under the photo: ‘Whaaattt! Congratulations to you both’ while another added: ‘WAIT WHATTTTT’.

Someone else added: ‘Wow didn’t see that coming congratulations to the three of you!’
