Children and parents were injured after a car mounted the pavement outside a London primary school today. 

Emergency services are on the scene outside Beatrix Potter primary in Earlsfield, south west London. 

Wandsworth Police have confirmed that a vehicle collided with a ‘number of children and two parents’ while pupils were leaving at the end of the day.    

One child endured what is thought to be a leg fracture – but it is not believed that any life-threatening injuries were sustained.

Wandsworth Police have confirmed that a vehicle collided with a ‘number of children and two parents’ while pupils were leaving at the end of the day

Residents are claiming that the driver had suffered a heart attack just outside the school gates – though this is not yet confirmed.  

Paramedics and London’s Air Ambulance were called to the scene at just after 3.10pm on Tuesday.

Wandsworth Police said in a statement: ‘We’re dealing with a collision near a school in Openview #Wandsworth #SW18. 

‘A car mounted the pavement and collided with a number of children and two parents.

‘Injuries not life-threatening; one child may have a broken leg. The driver of the car stopped at the scene. No arrests.’

A spokesman for the Met said: ‘A tree was also struck during the incident.

‘The driver of the car stopped at the scene, neither they or the two children also in the car were injured.’

No arrests have been made and inquiries continue.
