Coronation Street’s Samia Longchambon looks almost unrecognisable in throwback childhood modelling snap

She rose to fame when she joined the soap drama, Coronation Street, in 2000.

But Samia Longchambon already embarked on her journey to stardom as a child model which she revealed in a throwback picture on Saturday.

The actress, 38, shared a childhood snap of her modelling for Machine Knitting News’ Children’s Collection which was her first ever magazine cover.

Where it all began: On Saturday Samia Longchambon shared a throwback picture of her first magazine cover for Machine Knitting News’ Children’s Collection in 1992

Samia shared pictures of her magazine debut which was captured in 1992 when she was approximately nine or 10 years old.

The brunette beauty already exhibited a thespian flair as she delivered different expressions to the camera.

In one image, she wore red trousers, a bright knitted clown jumper, and she clutched a terrifying clown doll.

A young Samia is the spitting image of her daughter, Freya, 10, who she has with her ex-husband, Matt Smith.

The actress has since remarried French ice dancer, Sylvain Longchambon, in 2016, and the couple share a son named Yves, four.

The pair were spotted on a rare public outing in June after Coronation Street filming was suspended.

Samia has since returned to the set as lockdown restrictions relaxed and production resumed, but she admitted it has been very difficult to film scenes with the new social distancing measures in place.

Her character, Maria is set to marry Gary Windass but is oblivious to his involvement in two deaths.

They have begun filming the wedding scenes but Samia revealed it was very tricky.

She said to The Mirror: ‘The director shot it really cleverly so hopefully it doesn’t look like we’re too far apart saying our vows.

‘It was a bit tricky making it look like we were closer together – and putting the ring on, that was really tricky.’
