This is what Jan from the iconic ‘Not happy, Jan!’ commercial looks like now

Remember her? You will never believe what the iconic ‘Not happy, Jan!’ woman from the famous commercial looks like now… 20 years after finding fame in the cult ad

She found fame as ‘Jan’ in the 2000 ‘Not happy, Jan!’ Yellow Pages commercial.

And 20 years later, the actress behind the iconic character, Rhonda Doyle, appeared on KIIS FM’s The Kyle & Jackie O Show.

The radio hosts both had to guess who Rhonda was, with Kyle Sandilands admitting he had ‘no idea’, before asking if she was ‘the Spray ‘N’ Wipe lady’.

Jackie ‘O’ Henderson seemed a bit more clued in, but admitted she wasn’t completely sure, even though she had a fairly good idea of where she’d previously seen Rhonda.

Finally, Kyle, 49, asked Rhonda if she was ‘not happy, Jan’, prompting the actress to burst out laughing.

‘You are! She’s not happy, Jan! She’s Jan!’ Kyle excitedly screamed after realising who he was talking to.

He added: ‘Jan! Finally! You must’ve really loved it when Karen started copping it in public, because for years, people were yelling, “Not happy, Jan!”‘

Rhonda said she never minded the attention, calling the Yellow Pages ad ‘iconic’, but she admitted she was now sympathetic to all the women called ‘Karen’.

Clearly starstruck, Kyle branded Rhonda’s commercial ‘one of the greatest ads ever’, but she confessed she never expected it to become cemented in pop culture.

‘We never knew. We knew it was something special, and the window was a complete accident that happened,’ she explained.

The ad started with an alarmed boss realising her assistant, ‘Jan’, had forgotten to place an ad in the Yellow Pages, resulting in ‘Jan’ running off down the street, as her furious employer shouted, ‘Not happy, Jan!’ out of a jammed window.
