Jamie Redknapp recalls the moment he SANG at Christine Lampard’s wedding

Jamie Redknapp enjoyed a lively chat with Lorraine’s stand-in presenter Christine Lampard as they discussed his new ventures on Thursday’s edition of the show.

The Sky Sports pundit, 47, and the host, 41, were left giggling as they recalled the moment he sang at her wedding with her husband and his cousin Frank, 42, in December 2015.

‘You got up and did some singing at my wedding!’, the amused broadcaster said, with the former footballer proudly confirming: ‘Yeah I did! I had a few too many drinks that night, I think we all did.’

The sportsman cringed as he discussed belting lyrics in front of musician Ed Sheeran, stating: ‘Especially as Ed was there, it wasn’t a great idea to be singing in front of him! He didn’t sign me up, I’ll put it that way.’

Jamie also shut down rumours he’s set to follow in his father Harry’s footsteps by appearing on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

‘Leave it out Christine. No way!’, the media personality declared, just under two years after his dad, 73, was crowned King of the Jungle.

Elsewhere in the interview, the former midfielder spoke about ‘nerve-wracking’ presenting experience on Sky One’s A League of Their Own alongside Freddie Flintoff and Andy Murray.

The sports columnist explained: ‘You make it look easy. I must admit there were a few mistakes. I had to go back and do a lot of links. It was fun… It was nerve wracking I must admit.

‘When you’ve got to present and keep people in check… I enjoyed being the boss for a bit.’

Jamie later teased details about his new book, Me, Family and the Making of a Footballer, set for release in October.

The former Liverpool ace said: ‘It’s a bit of a memoir growing up in football and a bit of a unique childhood – my uncle played for England, my dad was a manager.

‘And there’s five years between me and Frank. To have two cousins play for England and do so well managing Chelsea is pretty incredible.

‘I was very fortunate. There were many. times I should have gone to school, and he’d say ‘look come to training with me,’ so I’d go to Bournemouth and train with the first team.

‘Some people think if you’re dad’s a footballer you’re gonna be a footballer, but it’s actually harder.’

In the romance department, the father of two is reportedly dating Swedish model Frida Andersson-Lourie, after divorcing his wife of 19 years, Louise Redknapp, in 2017.

Jamie, who shares sons Charley, 16, and Beau, 11, with Louise, 45, was photographed heading on a dog walk with the mother-of-four, 37, near his home in Surrey in pictures obtained by The Sun.

A source told the publication: ‘Jamie feels ready to move on from his marriage to Louise and is happy to be doing it with someone who has kids too and is financially secure.

‘It’s early days for Jamie and Frida, but they have grown close and are really enjoying spending time together when they can.’

Frida is currently signed to Mrs Robinson Management, an agency for older models, and has previously appeared in content for designer brands such as Escada.
