Gemma Collins’ dreams of making it big in America were dealt a huge blow when her U.S. agent died

She’s never hidden the fact that she wants to crack America.

But, Gemma Collins’ dreams of making it big in the U.S.A. were dealt a huge blow when her agent John Ferriter died in July 2019, just weeks after she signed up to be represented by him, stateside.

The former TOWIE star, 39, was in talks to star on American weight-loss show The Biggest Loser, but when John sadly passed away just six weeks later everything fell through.

Devastating: Gemma Collins’, 39, dreams of making it in the U.S.A. were dealt a blow when her agent John Ferriter died in July 2019, just weeks after she signed up to be represented by him

Speaking on The Gemma Collins Podcast, the GC said said: ‘We had a great meeting, he looked me in the eyes, he went, “Gemma – you’re a star, and I will make you a star in America”.

‘I came back to the UK and he called me and he said, “I’m going to put you forward for ‘The Biggest Loser”, which was a really big show. Sadly he passed away.’

But the Diva Forever star hasn’t given up hope, as she still believes another job in the US will pop up again.

She added: ‘So I did have a little taste of a job in America and feel it’s something that might come again.’

And it looks like her American dreams could come true as Gemma was recently tipped to appear on Dancing with the Stars, the US version of Strictly Come Dancing.

The GC is thought to have proved popular Stateside when she made an Orange is the New Black cameo.

And now, DWTS bookers are said to have ‘shown an interest’ in signing her up for a future series.

After impressing fans with her cameo on an Orange Is The New Black promo, the reality star is hoping a spot on DWTS could be in her future.

Back in 2017, Gemma was unimpressed when Strictly judge Craig Revel-Horwood implied she was too ‘low calibre’ to take part in the show.

Hitting back at his comments she told The Sun: ‘I find his comment funny. I’m not low rent, Craig.

‘We’ve all got to start somewhere and it’s a shame to just knock someone out of giving them a chance because they don’t think I’m high calibre enough.’
