Big Brother All-Stars: Cody Calafiore wins ‘golden power of the veto’

Cody Calafiore won the ‘golden power of the veto’ on Big Brother All-Stars Wednesday, but opted not to use it to put a new player up for elimination.

Instead, he decided to keep Janelle Pierzina, 40, and Kaysar Ridha, 39, on the chopping block, announcing that he didn’t want to ‘ruffle any more feathers’ among the cast.

Privately, the 29-year-old real-estate agent revealed that he’d been ‘planning to get Janelle or Kaysar out since week one, so now it’s time for that plan to come to fruition.’

Cody’s alliance was huge, and he seemed gleeful as he plotted to crush his opponents.

He wasn’t the only one.

‘Janelle is the Big Brother queen,’ said Dani Donato, 33, one of Cody’s best allies. ‘But I have to make sure she goes home this week, because it’s time for a new coronation.’

Head of Household Tyler Crispen, 23, felt sure he’d made a smart choice in nominating Janelle and Kaysar, who’d been friends since BB6, for eviction.

‘Not only do they have my name in their mouths,’ he said, referring to the fact that they had pinpointed his allies, ‘but they are absolutely my two biggest threats in this game.’

As Janelle scrambled to form alliances with other players in the house—hoping to save herself and possibly Kaysar, too—other players were busy making their own backroom deals.

Dani appeared to work nearly everyone in the house, publicly aligning herself with Enzo Palumbo, 42, and Memphis Garrett, 37, but privately admitting she could ditch them.

‘Bayleigh [Dayton, 27] and Da’Vonne [Rogers, 32], they’re both in the Slick Six,’ she said of two other allies. ‘But they’re both clearly each other’s number ones. That’s not gonna benefit me.’

Sitting on the Big Brother sofa, she watched her Tyler charm Bayleigh from a distance, and told Nicole Franzel, 28, ‘He’s really good at this game. He can’t stay, or else we have no shot.’

‘You’re running this house, pretty much,’ Nicole F. marveled.

‘I think everyone thinks they’re running this house,’ Dani replied.

Janelle grew a little desperate as she tried to figure out how to go forward, aware that she was the focus of everyone’s attention.

She even gave herself a ‘vampire facial’ with a red lactic acid, revealing that it gave her ‘good vibes’ for the upcoming veto competition.

‘People in this house go to extreme lengths for beauty,’ said management consultant Ian Terry, 29, shaking his head as he told Janelle how much acid was on her face.

When the veto contest rolled around, Janelle, Kaysar and Tyler were all required to compete, and they picked Bayleigh, Memphis and Cody’s names out of a box.

The game they were playing was called ‘Cupcake Clash,’ and it entailed moving the parts of three mixed cupcakes around to make three solid cupcakes.

Cody was the best at it and won ‘the Golden Power of Veto,’ frustrating Nicole and Kaysar.

‘Are you kidding me?’ Kaysar asked the cameras. ‘Cody wins again. He’s working with a strong alliance in this house. I’m not happy at all.’

‘Cody wins the power of veto,’ Janelle lamented. ‘How do you think I feel? I don’t really have anyone in this game besides Kaysar. I’m in definite trouble.’

Memphis agreed with her, privately noting that while he’d wanted to win the veto himself, Cody winning was ‘the next best thing.’

‘Now that Cody has the veto and Tyler is the H.O.H., our alliance has full control this week,’ he said.

Dani wondered if Memphis had deliberately done badly in the veto competition because he had another alliance with Janelle, and wanted her to win.

‘I know Memphis threw this competition,’ she told the cameras. ‘Last week, he wouldn’t back-door Jenelle or Kaysar. He’s double-dipping. All he cares about is himself.’

Cody, Tyler and Enzo also wondered whether Memphis had messed up on purpose, and recognized that someday soon, they might need to take their friend down.

Janelle, who’d been friends with Kaysar a long time, apologized for getting him targeted for elimination, something she felt responsible for because he was allied with her.

‘It’s not your fault,’ Kaysar insisted. ‘We were screwed walking into these doors.’

‘I’m sorry,’ Janelle reiterated. ‘I should have said no to coming so you had a chance.’

‘No way,’ Kaysar said. ‘This has been great. I haven’t seen you in such a long time.’

‘Here’s what I think,’ Janelle returned. ‘I think it’s better for your game if I leave, and I think I’m a bigger threat than you, and a bigger target.’

‘Well, that’s just offensive,’ Kaysar replied. ‘I’ve never been in this house without you. That’s crazy.’

Kaysar suggested that the two of them offer Tyler some kind of Hail Mary, promising him that they’d go after ‘floaters’ in the house if they could stay in the game.

With the veto meeting approaching, it was time for Christmas Abbott, 35, to get ‘punished.’

She’d been chosen for the Safety Suite by Enzo, and in return the producers had given her a horrible task: Caring for nine needy stuffed stars around the clock.

Janelle, meanwhile, made her final pitch to Cody, telling him she’d vote with him for two weeks if he used his veto to save her from possible elimination.

Cody considered it, recognizing that Janelle was such a huge target she could be an effective shield for him, and draw most of the heat in difficult situations.

‘Besides, right now, Janelle is the devil we know,’ he reasoned, ‘which could be less dangerous than a snake in the grass.’

But at the veto meeting, Cody opted not to use his veto, which left Kaysar ‘extremely irritated.’

The biotech executive refused to say die, and promised vengeance if he was targeted further.

‘If there’s one thing my family or friends know about me, I’m successful because I’m relentless,’ he said. ‘I take my disappointment, my frustration, and sometimes my anger, and I channel them to get what I want. And I stay in this house, I’m gonna come back gunning.’
