And now former Neighbours star Adelaide Kane has clarified to fans that she’s not in ‘crippling debt,’ but rather, has a mortgage.
The 30-year-old, who is known for shows including Teen Wolf and Reign, shared a TikTok video on Thursday.

‘I make one video breaking down a hypothetical,’ she said, trailing off.
‘And now I’m apparently in crippling debt. I have a mortgage, I have a mortgage, that’s my debt!’
She sighed and added: ‘F**k me.’

In a viral TikTok video posted earlier this week, Adelaide explained in detail how the estimated $5million that she’s made throughout her career has been used up on taxes, managers, and other costs.
The CW star, who played the lead character of Mary, Queen of Scots in the hit U.S. series Reign, said that her agent and manager each take a 10 per cent cut of the money, followed by five per cent each for her lawyer and business manager.
On top of that, she has to pay a whopping 30 per cent in taxes because she’s a foreign citizen working in America.

‘So I lose 60 per cent right off the bat, which leaves me with about $2.2million over the last 14 years,’ she said.
‘Which if you average it out comes down to about $178,000-ish a year which would be fine, good wage. Except I have to pay rent in major cities, sometimes two cities at once.’
Beyond that, Adelaide also needs to fork out for a publicist, social media manager, and a stylist for events.
‘I have to pay a publicist which is usually $2,000 to $3,000 a month, when I’ve had social media teams that’s been about $2,000 a month,’ she continued.
The young star also said that a stylist can charge $700 to $1,500 per outfit, on top of another $1,000 for hair and makeup.
Adelaide got her big break on the Australian soap Neighbours, before moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career in Hollywood.
She’s best known for playing Mary, Queen of Scots in the Stan drama Reign.
The brunette beauty also starred on ABC’s Once Upon a Time and the CBS series SEAL Team.
