Fern Britton has revealed she’s stopped wearing bras in favour of bikini tops as they are ‘much more comfortable’.

The presenter, 63, updated fans about her wardrobe epiphany in a busty snap posted to Twitter which showed off her cleavage.

She slipped into a strappy low-cut black and white polka dot bikini as she explained the benefits of the wardrobe change on Tuesday.

She captioned the social media snap: ‘Gals, I have taken to wearing a bikini top instead of a bra. Much more comfortable. You’re welcome x’.

Her post was flooded with positive responses from other women who said they agreed that they were more comfortable than wearing bras.

The blonde beauty was clearly feeling body confident for the post and famously dropped from a dress size 22 to 12 in 2006 in a dramatic transformation.

It comes after Fern revealed in July that she quit This Morning because she was ‘treated pretty poorly’ and admitted that ‘something happened’ on the day she finally resigned.

She became a full-time presenter on the ITV staple in 1999 and departed after a decade in 2009, amid persistent rumours of a feud with co-host Phillip Schofield.

Fern confessed that she hadn’t actually planned to resign, but had begun to not enjoy her time on the daytime TV show.

Speaking on The Ray D’Arcy Show on RTÉ Radio 1, she said: ‘I began not to enjoy it so much and the morning I resigned, I didn’t know I was going to resign.

‘Something happened and I thought, ‘That’s it really’ and I walked away and resigned. I was treated pretty poorly, actually. And after a while I just thought, ‘Sod it’.

Shutting down the rumours which swirled around at the time of her departure, Fern said: ‘There was also a persistent rumour that I left because Phillip was being paid more than me.

‘And I always say to people, “Why would I leave a show to go to nothing if I was worried about money?”’

MailOnline contacted This Morning for comment at the time.

Earlier this year the TV presenter revealed she had split with her chef husband of 20 years, Phil Vickery, 59.

Fern also spoke about learning to be single during the coronavirus lockdown.

She said: ‘We separated at the beginning of the year and fortunately it’s all smooth. We just came to the end of the road, you know, which is sad.

‘So, I’ve been adjusting to life as just me to think about, and my two daughters happen to be here because they got stuck in lockdown, happily for me.

‘It’s a time for me to really adjust my existence, which on the one hand is really quite exciting, but you’ve also got to process it for a while.’
