Nick died at 41 on July 5 following a 95-day stay in the intensive care unit.

After being diagnosed with the novel coronavirus, he was placed on a ventilator and had to undergo dialysis. In April, his left leg was amputated.

Amanda Kloots, Nick’s wife, revealed that Nick had overcome the virus, but his lungs had been too severely damaged for him to recover.

This new tribute special will precede the release of a new live solo album released in Nick’s name.

His one-man special, recorded in April 2019 at New York’s Feinstein’s/54 Below cabaret, will be released by Broadway Records on September 17.

The album is named Live Your Life after a pop song that Nick wrote and performed.

It became the anthem for Amanda, who would sing along with the song every day at 3 p.m. while he was in the hospital, and fans supporting the musical theater star shared their own versions of the track.

On Sunday, Amanda shared an emotional post featuring a photo Nick snapped while she was napping.

‘I found this on Nicks phone,’ the fitness pro, 38, told her 580,000-plus followers. ‘I don’t remember him taking this picture but know exactly where we are here.’

Kloots, who is mother to son Elvis Eduardo, one, with the late Tony-nominee, added, ‘I really miss sleeping next to him, cuddling into his shoulder and having someone to hold.’

As she tries to move on from her husband’s long health struggle, Amanda has been keeping her fans abreast as she adjusts to life in her new home in Los Angeles’ Laurel Canyon, where she and Nick purchased a house after moving from New York.
