Jesse Tyler Ferguson sweetly serenades his baby boy Beckett the Barbra Streisand showtune I’m The Greatest Star

He loves his show tunes, and is hoping to pass that appreciation down to his beloved baby boy.

Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson uploaded a charming video of himself singing to his newborn son Beckett on Monday, as his husband Justin Mikita filmed.

Ferguson, 44, treated the tot to an a cappella version of Barbra Streisand’s I’m The Greatest Star in the clip, as he balanced the babe on his lap.

Jesse is more heard than seen in the snippet, singing away as he is seated in a chair while wearing a t-shirt and jeans, with Beckett Mercer blocking his face in a yellow onesie.

Jesse’s husband Justin, 34, sits on floor against the couch opposite them, catching himself in a mirror as he films his happy family.

Ferguson sings the classic I’m The Greatest Star from Streisand’s Oscar-winning turn as Fanny Brice in 1968’s Funny Girl, complete with the (perhaps ill-timed?) lyrics ‘Hey listen kid, I know I’d be divine because I’m a natural cougher [coughs]’

It was just the latest expression of fatherly enthusiasm from the besotted pair, who’ve been sharing endearing posts regularly in the roughly six weeks since they became fathers.

Just three weeks ago, Jesse shared a clip of him riffing on a classic song from Jesus Christ Superstar, the 1970 rock opera with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice.

Borrowing from the song ‘What’s the Buzz,’ the actor most famous for playing Mitchell Pritchett for eleven seasons instead sang ‘What’s the fuss’ to his little one.

The improvised verses he sang were: ‘What’s the fuss, tell me what’s happening, why do you wanna fuss when your life has been so easy?

‘…When your life is not that bad?’ the actor continued, while bouncing the baby gently on his stomach.

‘You get booby milk when you want it, and cute outfits from your dad!’ Ferguson concluded, nailing the rhyme with aplomb.
