Britney Spears’ sister Jamie Lynn was named as a trustee for the pop star’s fortune TWO YEARS AGO

Britney Spears’ little sister Jamie Lynn Spears was quietly made a trustee to the trust protecting the superstar’s massive fortune back in 2018.

The former Nickelodeon star, 29, was named a trustee of the SJB Revocable Trust two years ago after the approval of dad Jaime Spears and co-conservator Andrew Wallet, according to legal documents obtained by The Blast.

While alive, the Work singer, 38, is the ‘sole beneficiary’ of the trust but the newly discovered documents reveal the plans outlined for SJB Revocable Trust if the singer passes away.

The documents also reveal that father Jamie has asked the court to approve Fidelity Financial Management as an advisor to her investments that is capable of creating ‘blocked accounts’ to hold the singer’s assets.

The docs make it unclear if Mr. Spears was asking to move assets to said blocked accounts now or in the event of her death.

They did clearly state directives for Britney’s finances ‘upon the settlor’s death,’ however.

The document read in full: ‘Upon the settlor’s death, the entire principal of the Trust, including all accused and undistributed and unrealized income, together with any insurance on the settlor’s life or other assets payable to the Trust as a result of settlor’s death, shall be promptly distributed by the Trustee to the trustee or co-trustee of the BJS Kids & Family Trust, to be held, administered and distributed in accordance with its terms.’

Roughly translated, this means if Britney dies her little sister will have the singer’s assets and cash properly transferred to the trust set up to take care of her children.

Britney’s strained relationship with father Jamie is no secret, making Jamie Lynn’s trustee appointment particularly important.

The …Baby One More Time singer’s legal team has filed documents requesting Mr. Spears be removed from his role as Brtiney’s conservator. They would like a financial advising company to oversee her assets.

Jamie Lynn’s involvement could signal a shift in Britney’s conservatorship, which oversees her finances as well as personal matters like her medical treatment, driving privileges and more, according to The Blast.

Last month the child actress lashed out at a critic who asked what she was doing about her sister’s ‘obvious metal illness.’

‘You have no right to assume anything about my sister, and I have NO right to speak about HER health and personal matters,’ the Zoey 101 star wrote back in her comment section.

She added: ‘She is a strong, badass, unstoppable woman, and that’s the only thing that is OBVIOUS.’

Spears also explained to another user, who urged her to speak on the #FreeBritney Movement, that she ‘would never speak out just to clarify things to the public, when the person it pertains to does not want it to happen.’

‘I’d rather take all the hate, then speak about someone else’s personal matter, that they want to be kept private,’ she wrote back, before limiting comments on her post.

In 2004, Britney created the trust to include: ‘All of my right, title, and interest in all my property.’

Additionally it protected material like ‘furniture and furnishings, clothing, jewelry, vehicles and accessories to vehicles, books, paintings, and other artwork, and other tangible articles of personal, domestic household, or recreational use or nature, together with any insurance on such property.’

‘My stocks and securities of every kind and character. My cash and cash equivalents, including all bank accounts and savings accounts of any kind or character.’

Spears is not asking to be released from her conservatorship, but has been adamant about having her father distanced from the position.

After years of distancing herself, Mother Lynne Spears – who split from Jamie in 2002 – requested to be involved in the conservatorship in July legal filings, according to Entertainment Weekly.

But the conservatorship and its current terms are set to remain in place for the next six-months following a Wednesday court hearing.

Recently fellow celebs like Paris Hilton, Arial Winter, and Rose McGowan have joined fans in publicly voicing their support for Britney’s autonomy, which has coalesced into the #FreeBritney movement.

Earlier this month it was revealed the diva spent over $1million on legal fees surrounding her conservatorship in just the past year.

The Gimme More singer has had her spending habits documented in new court papers, and they revealed she paid her team of advisers and attorneys a total of $1,202,504.30 in 2019.

According to the publication her father, Jamie, also earned $128,000 for his role as conservator, a position he stepped down from in September due to health reasons.

Her care manager, Jodi Pais Montgomery, is now her conservator.

Britney also spent $91,242.01 on travel to locations including the Turks and Caicos islands and Miami, while she also received an undisclosed weekly allowance to spend at her discretion.

Britney spent almost $1 million on residential expenses, some of which was likely to have been spent on repairs to her home gym, which was damaged in two fires.

Jamie recently lashed out at the ongoing #FreeBritney campaign that claims the star is being held hostage by her dad who until recently had control over her finances and legal matters since her very public breakdown 12 years ago.

‘All these conspiracy theorists don’t know anything,’ Jamie told the New York Post. ‘The world don’t have a clue.’

‘It’s up to the court of California to decide what’s best for my daughter. It’s no one else’s business,’ he added.

He was placed in control of Britney’s matters after the star endured serious mental health struggles during the late 2000s.
