He returned to Australia from his home in Los Angeles amid the coronavirus pandemic, but sadly Troye Sivan wasn’t able to bring his beloved dog with him.

In an interview with The Project on Monday, the 25-year-old singer admitted talking about his dog, Nash, was still ‘a touchy topic’ for him.

Troye said that when he left LA, he thought he’d only be gone for five weeks, and was already feeling ‘super anxious’ about leaving Nash behind.

‘I haven’t seen him in six months now. It’s really, really a tough one,’ he admitted.

Admitting he’s been missing the pooch, Troye said he’s been comforting himself with photos and videos of Nash.

Troye added that he’s looking forward to the day when he can sneak in through his back door and surprise his dog, talking to him in his ‘weird voice’ once again.

He admitted that the thought of reuniting with Nash is what ‘keeps me sane’ during such a difficult time.

But he said he draws the line at talking to Nash via Zoom.

‘My dog is dumb. He doesn’t know what’s going on. He’s a dog. He’s not across Zoom,’ he continued.

After returning to Australia at the start of the pandemic, Troye returned to his parents’ home in Melbourne.

But he revealed he’d recently moved out, and now has his own place behind his brother’s house.

‘I’ve upgraded and have my own granny flat at my brother’s house… I’ve got a bed, a little shower, I just don’t have a chair. I am sitting on the floor. But if you can look past that, it’s all good,’ he said.
