Bachelor In Paradise star Krystal Nielson and husband Chris Randone are officially getting divorced.

The pair, both 32, met and got engaged in 2018 during season five of the hit show and sealed the deal a year later on BIP in a televised ceremony officiated by Chris Harrison.

The couple were married for all of eight months, before announcing their separation in February. They are now moving forward with the divorce proceedings six months later.

Being in the public eye, Nielson and Randone have shared nearly every aspect of their relationship with the world after the fitness instructor proposed on television in 2018 in front of Bachelor nation.

In typical franchise fashion the pair had their wedding televised in 2019 on BIP season six, to give the current contestants a look at what Paradise was capable of doing. They wed at the Vidanta hotel in Mexico.

On January 12th, just a month before announcing their separation, Krystal shared on Instagram that she had taken a fertility test as the couple had discussed having babies in their future.

But on February 14 – Valentines day – the pair gave an exclusive statement to BachelorNation.com where they announced their separation.

The couple said, ‘It hurts to announce that at this moment, we have mutually decided to separate. Never did we imagine this scenario, but we’ve come to a point where we both need to work on ourselves.’

Upon sharing this news, a close source told PEOPLE that the February separation was not a surprise to those people closest to the pair.

‘None of their loved ones are shocked by the split,’ the source shared. ‘They weren’t ready at all to get married but felt immense pressure from Bachelor Nation to have this happy ending.’

The source continued by saying that they were not on the same page and were ‘already struggling before they got married.’
