Denise Van Outen stars in Cabaret All Stars show in London

Denise Van Outen starred in the Cabaret All Stars Show in London last night as performances returned to the stage for the first time since the country was put on Covid-19 lockdown. 

The TV presenter, 46, ensured all eyes were on her for the show as she donned a black shimmering corset with a sequined establishment at Proud Embankment.

Ms Van Outen belted out tunes and clearly wasn’t feeling any ill effects after she recently revealed testing positive for coronavirus, despite never having any symptoms. 

Venues all over the country took advantage of the latest round of coronavirus lockdown restrictions last weekend to put on socially distanced performances or events for the first time in months.

Theatres were one of the last businesses to open after Boris Johnson implemented a strict lockdown in late-March to try and curb the spread of the pandemic.

Pubs and other non-essential shops have been open since July 4, but theatres, bowling alleys, and gig venues were only given permission last Saturday to throw back open their doors.

Ms Van Outen paired her outfit with a bright red sleeveless jacket with a matching belt.

The star added height to her frame with a pair of black heels while she showcased her pins in matching tights. 

Newly returned patrons will have noticed a number of changes to ensure the audience can enjoy shows while keeping safe. 

Proud Cabaret, who also have venues in Brighton and London’s financial district, published a lengthy blog post on its website about how the alterations people could expect.

Markings are in place at the venue to ensure social distancing it kept to, and all guests will be taken straight to their allocated table.

After the show tables can be asked to leave one at a time, and after leaving the venue will be thoroughly cleaned in time for the next show.

Only one person at a time is allowed to collect items from the cloakroom and you will be asked to leave the venue promptly.

There are limits on the toilets, with only three women allowed in at once and two men at once, with the limits being monitored by staff. 

In terms of the performers themselves – such as Ms Van Outen – they have their temperatures taken regularly, and have separate toilet facilities to patrons.

The venue will be thoroughly cleaned and staff have been fully trained in how to keep performers and members of the public safe.

Casinos and bowling alleys were are among the venues now allowed to reopen under the latest guidance last week.

The move to allow indoor performances follows a ‘successful series of pilots’, Downing Street said.

Tattoo studios, beauty salons, spas and hairdressers were also given permission to offer additional services, including front-of-face treatments such as eyebrow threading.

The lockdown restrictions were due to be eased on August 1, but a spike in coronavirus cases at the time resulted in a pause for two weeks.

Many in the beauty industry expressed disappointment at the delay when it was announced. 

Grosvenor Casinos, which has a portfolio of 52 casinos across the UK, said it was reopening 35 in England.

It said its coronavirus safety measures include a capacity cap, voluntary PPE and face coverings for guests and staff, hand sanitiser stations, and screens available on gaming tables and machines.  

Enthralling audiences last night Ms Van Outen styled her blonde locks into loose waves, Denise completed her on stage look with a silver bracelet. 

In another look, Denise donned a leopard print miniskirt with a sweetheart neckline along with a black blazer.

Carrying a bouquet of roses, The Masked Singer star also wore a black top hat  and a silver necklace.   

It comes after Denise revealed she had COVID-19 but never realised she was carrying the virus until she took an antibody test. 

The actress revealed the shocking discovery on Friday after she’d decided to take a pin prick test after seeing her make up artist Lyndsey Harrison take one – and showed followers the process on her Instagram. 

Over the video, she told fans that it ‘didn’t hurt’ and had just been ‘a little prick’ on her finger, before adding: ‘Turns out I’ve had Covid 19 and I had no idea.’ 

She went on to clarify that she is virus-free now, as she added: ‘I’m negative now but possibly had it a few months back.’

Denise, who shares ten-year-old daughter, Betsy, with her ex-husband Lee Mead, recently cut down on drinking alongside her partner Eddie Boxshall. 

She also said that she is now taking bioidentical gels to help combat the onset of menopause. 

Denise appeared on Gogglebox with Eddie over the last few months and also recently hosted a 21st birthday for her stepdaughter. 

It is unknown if Eddie, her daughter or her stepdaughter also had the virus.

Back in June, Denise said she ‘couldn’t wait’ to perform again and had been rehearsing for Cabaret All Stars by wearing her fishnets and heels in the kitchen.

In an interview with MailOnline, she said: ‘I’ve got to get back into my fishnets, so as soon as I had the nod I started training every day.

‘Opening my wardrobe doors and looking at all my high heels I have been thinking, when am I ever going to wear you again? But now I’ve got a reason to put heels and fishnets back on.

‘I have lived in trainers in lockdown so I’m going to have a practice for the show in my heels around my kitchen.’ 

Cabaret All Stars reopened at Proud Embankment over the weekend, showcasing a variety of performers including burlesque dancers, fire breathers, aerial acts, sword swallowers and magicians.
