Scheana Shay claims to have been in a ‘throuple’ with John Mayer and Stacie Adams of The Hills

Scheana Shay claimed that while she was dating John Mayer, 42, in 2009, they had ‘a little bit of a throuple going on’ with The Hills alum Stacie Adams. 

The 35-year-old Vanderpump Rules star explained that she was ‘living with Stacie at the time’ and that the unconventional relationship between her, Stacie, and John ‘went on for about six months.’ 

‘We hung out and we would go to [John’s] house in Calabasas, or Hidden Hills, whatever it’s called. It just became, you know, kind of the three of us. We had a little throuple going on,’ said Shay on the most recent episode of the Flashbacks with Jessica Hall and Heather Rae Young podcast.

When asked if she was implying that three-way relationship was a ‘sexual’ one, Shay replied in the affirmative.

She also added that her and Mayer engaged in a similar type fling with a different woman, whose identity she did not disclose, during the span of their relationship.

Towards the end of her relationship with John, Scheana admitted that she ‘definitely got a little jealous’ because she knew that ‘he liked [Stacie] more.’  

‘I was like, “Wait, I brought you into this and now you’re getting more attention than I’m getting! Like, what’s up with that?”

‘And then even after him and I stopped talking, [John and Stacie] continued talking and there were, like, a lot of things.’

As if more fuel needed to be added to the fire, Shay was also jealous that Stacie was approached to appear on the popular MTV reality series The Hills.

Shay claimed that Stacie had zero interest in pursuing a career in the entertainment industry, whereas it was her dream to infiltrate the scene.  

The complicated throuple with John and the jealousy surrounding their career ambitions, eventually, led to the demise of Stacie and Scheana’s friendship. After not speaking for a year, the pair reconnected and worked out their issues. 

During her podcast appearance, Scheana also detailed how she happened to become entangled with Mayer.

According to Scheana, she first came in contact with the Your Body Is A Wonderland singer, while working a party he was throwing at the Grand Havana Room with his then-girlfriend Jennifer Aniston, 51.  

‘I’m working this party. I end up getting wasted with them. Every time they did a shot, they would get me a shot,’ claimed the reality star.

She then said that John and Jennifer graciously invited her to the star studded gathering’s exclusive after-party, but that her high alcohol consumption prevented her from attending.

John and Jennifer, who dated from 2008 until 2009, allegedly split ‘a few weeks’ after the party, with John returning to Grand Havana Room, where Scheana worked, ‘with all the boys, just like, ‘”Yeah, f**k this. Whatever.”‘   

‘One of his friends comes up and he was like, “So, it’s not really like public news yet but John and Jen broke up. He wants your number. Give it to me and I’ll pass it to him.”‘

Scheana ended up giving her cellphone number to Mayer’s buddy and she claimed that Mayer made his way to her apartment that evening. And the rest is history.
