Jacqueline Jossa accuses stars who edit their snaps of being ‘insecure’

Jacqueline Jossa has claimed that celebrities who edit their social media snaps must be ‘insecure’ as she shared her own attempts to alter a bare-faced selfie.

In a series of videos to Instagram Stories, the I’m A Celebrity winner, 27, insisting she didn’t have any qualms with making small tweaks to snaps, but thought it was a ‘bit crazy’ for users to completely change their body shape.

Jacqueline also shared her own attempt at altering a selfie she’d taken after jetting abroad for a family holiday with husband Dan Osborne and their two daughters Ella, five, and Mia, two.

In a series of videos, Jacqueline explained this was her first attempt at using an editing app, and reminded her fans that not all social media snaps are as they seem.

The star demonstrated how she managed to change her own face to give the illusion of ‘a full face of make-up.’

Jacqueline explained: ‘I wanted you guys to know and see how easy it is and how much you can’t really tell and that everybody does it.

‘So you know when you looking at people thinking, ”they look flawless and absolutely amazing”, the majority they don’t’.

After sharing the video of her attempt to use the app she added: ‘The slightest changes – I made my nose a little smaller, my lips a little bit bigger and I basically put a full face of make-up on my face.

‘It’s really subtle though. It looks really minimal but don’t be fooled…. I would do a body one but I ain’t got a clue how to do it.

‘I can’t make out how to make the waist smaller. All I know how to do is smooth, I’m a beginner to this thing.

‘But yeah, interesting it – just the tiniest little change.’

Jacqueline insisted she didn’t have an issue with those who wanted to make tiny tweaks to their snaps, such as ‘brightening their eyes or hiding a spot,’ but thought it concerning that some people would want to completely change their face or body.

She said: ‘When you start changing actual features like your nose and lips or your eyebrows like in that video, just the slightest bit, it does make a difference and that’s a bit crazy.

‘When you start getting your waist tiny and hips bigger, which a lot of people do, it just gets a bit mad.

‘I’m all for it like I understand that people are insecure and they want to edit their pictures but what I mean we’re losing ourselves in that sense a bit.’

Jacqueline has previously spoken out in support of body confidence after revealing she is planning to kick-start an exercise routine.

The star, who has embraced her size 12-14 figure, said on Instagram last month: ‘I’m having those thoughts of I need to start doing a bit for me and I’m going to try and go for walks and maybe do some exercise.

‘And no, before everyone pipes up it’s not to necessarily lose weight, I wouldn’t mind it but it is more just to know that you’re doing something.

‘Because work-wise I’m feeling really good, I’m busy I’m on the ball and I just want to maintain that and I feel like getting on the ball with it now, it’s got to be done.’

The mother-of-two also wrote a message on her Insta stories: ‘Gotta start doing some fitness stuff, purely for the mind, not to get skinnaaaay!!

‘Just need to make sure I keep active and for so good for the brain.

‘Excited about that… cut to me tomorrow not doing anything about it but hey, this is my 11pm evening thought lol I’ll check in with you tomorrow. Gonna get a fit bit or something too!’

It comes after Jacqueline revealed she finally ‘doesn’t care’ about being a size 12 to 14, after sharing a candid snap of her figure in a bikini from different camera angles.

The I’m A Celebrity winner said she has finally accepted her curves and embraced being a ‘plus-sized’ woman, but hasn’t ruled out the idea of hitting the gym to lose weight.

Jacqueline thanked fans for the support she has received since sharing the unedited images, admitting that she wrestled with the decision as to whether she should post them, but after doing so, she felt like a weight had been lifted.
