Grey’s Anatomy star Kate Walsh has been hunkering down in Perth for the last five months amid the COVID-19 pandemic. 

And, the 52-year-old American has revealed she’s been embracing a few Australian traditions while staying Down Under. 

Speakig to 9Honey, Kate admitted that she regularly watches the AFL (Australian Football League) after becoming obsessed with the sporting code.

‘There’s nothing else like it. It’s a combination of rugby and American football and basketball,’ she enthused. 

‘It’s very exciting and fast paced and I just really, really enjoyed it… There’s really quite a spectacle to witness and it’s a lot of fun.’ 

Kate had originally come to Australia for a holiday in March, but decided to stay after the borders closed due to the pandemic.

And, the Umbrella Academy star revealed she loves it so much that she has extended her stay until December when her visa expires. 

‘I got a little place up here in Perth and that’s where I am….and I have to say, I love it. I really love Perth,’ she added. 

‘I love the city, I love the people and I feel very, very fortunate, obviously, to have quarantined there and be in WA during this kind of crazy time in the world.’

This comes amid speculation that Kate is one of the singers on The Masked Singer Australia, after Channel 10 released a clue teasing that a ‘big name from an Emmy-winning series’ will appear.

Just as the clue suggests, Grey’s Anatomy is an Emmy-winning series, having won four awards and received 38 nominations since 2005. 

Kate previously demonstrated her dancing prowess on The Ellen DeGeneres show in 2018, when she performed a comedic pole dance routine on stage.

She also showcased her singing ability back in 2011, when she performed a short song in Grey’s Anatomy’s famous musical episode.

‘Put it this way, I had to take voice lessons for this,’ she joked to E! at the time.

The Masked Singer Australia continues Monday at 7:30pm on Channel 10
