The shocking moment Sunrise host David Koch meets his doppelgänger live on air – and they look like identical twins
He’s one of the country’s most recognisable TV presenters.
But it turns out there is at least one other person in Australia who looks exactly like Sunrise host David ‘Kochie’ Koch.
During Wednesday’s show, the 64-year-old was taken aback by the remarkable similarities he shared with Victorian business owner Paul Capkin.

During weather presenter Sam Mac’s travel segment in which visits senior citizens, he introduced Paul Capkin to Sunrise anchors Kochie and Natalie Barr.
Paul said that he is often told he looks like Kochie’s long-lost brother, saying: ‘My business is called Posh Wash, so I get [called] Kochie Washy.’
When Sam asked if mobile car wash owner took the comparison as a compliment, he cheekily responded: ‘Sometimes!’

‘A couple of times, people have said to me, “Kochie, how come you are wearing a St. Kilda scarf?”‘ he added, referring to Kochie’s famous allegiance to Port Adelaide.
The Sunrise panel laughed as Sam agreed: ‘That is a giveaway!’
Paul was then asked to turn side-on for a profile view, as Kochie did the same in the Channel Seven studio.
Both men appeared to share near-identical features, including the same bald head and prominent nose.

Paul poked fun of their comparison further by repeating Kochie’s most common phrases and mannerisms via Zoom.
‘As soon as he came up on the Zoom, I thought who’s that good looking dude,’ Kochie joked at being introduced to his lookalike.
