The Masked Singer: fans take aim at the Cactus as they pan her performance

The Masked Singer prides itself on the incredible talent that belts out songs while suited-up on stage. 

But the Cactus got a less-than-stellar response for her performance on Tuesday night’s episode of the reality show. 

The mystery singer belted out I Love It by Swedish duo Icona Pop, and viewers were underwhelmed at home to say the least.

‘Surely cactus isn’t the same person tonight. Sounds like sh*t compared to last week,’ one irate viewer bluntly wrote on Twitter. 

Another viewer added: ‘I think I’ve burst my eardrums, and honestly I’m thankful.’ 

Meanwhile, a third fan preferred to get straight to the point, writing, ‘Her voice kinda…..sucks’, while a fourth said the Cactus is ‘definitely not a singer’.  

‘My ears are bleeding,’ commented another fan of Channel Ten’s ratings juggernaut.  

Despite the audience being less-than-impressed, the mysterious songstress certainly captured the imagination of the judges. 

Judge Urzila Carlson said: ‘That was amazing. You could have 10 costumes on and you could still feel the sass come through.’   

Dave Hughes said: ‘Wonderful. Those dancing lips and the cactus in the pot.’  

While Jackie O Henderson accidentally lost an earring dancing to the pop hit. 

‘No, that was really cool. Every time I watch the clue package for you, I have in my mind who you are and then you sing and I’m like, ‘Oh, OK, it’s not her,’ she said. 

The wacky guesses started with Caitlyn Jenner and moved on to absurd choices like Jess Mauboy and Linda Bull.
