Troye Sivan reveals the surprise gift Taylor Swift sent him while in COVID-19 lockdown

Australian singer Troye Sivan has been friends with Taylor Swift since 2018.

And the My! My! My! hit-maker has revealed the American songstress sent him a special package while in COVID-19 lockdown in Melbourne.

Speaking to Stellar magazine on Sunday, Troye said Taylor sent sent him a cardigan from her new Folklore album merchandise line.

‘She was sneaky. She texted me a few days before Folklore was announced, saying: “Hey whats your address in Australia? I want to send you a cute merch thing.”‘ 

Troye said he received the cosy cardigan a few days before the album was officially released on July 24.   

‘The cardigan is really warm and nice. It snowed where I live in Melbourne, so it’s coming in handy,’ he said.

Troye believes Taylor’s eight studio album Folklore is her most honest record yet.

A fan of her music and songwriting ability, Troye often uses Taylor and his other high-profile musician pals as sounding boards for his own projects. 

‘She was one of the first people I sent ‘Easy’ to. Another sign I’m excited about music is when I share it with people I admire. I value her [Taylor’s] opinion and friendship.’

Troye performed with the Bad Blood hitmaker at LA’s Rose Bowl in 2018, with Taylor later praising the young star on Twitter. 

He also reflected on his friendship with Ariana Grande in the chat – whom he collaborated with in 2018 for his Dance To This track and music video.

While he admitted to missing hang out with the megastar in Los Angeles, Troye said they text and FaceTime regularly.
